Chinese Puzzle by James Kingston is a compelling story grounded in contemporary reality of efforts to formulate and secure a new vaccine to tackle a killer strain of drug resistant malaria which threatens the developed world. Big business in cohorts with a secretive military are prepared to use any means including their own mercenary forces to ensure that potential huge financial gain and control of the vaccine remains with them.
The main action takes place in England and Africa. Fellow researchers and one time lovers, Kate Mackenzie and Rashta Green, each with their own personal conflicts, are unwittingly caught up in an involved web of love, lust, greed, lies, deceit and sudden death as they try to ensure that the vaccine is developed to benefit the most vulnerable.
