The story is set in both Regency and in Roman times. It moves between London and Cornwall where there is a set of standing stones that play a large part in the story.
Calista is a lively heroine although occasionally she seems very modern in her attitudes, although that’s a common fault in historical romances. I didn’t like Max at first because he plans to marry someone, dump her in the country and carry on his affair with Lady Davina although I liked him better later when he realized how heartless and cruel that would have been. Lady Davina is an excellent villainess although she seems not to have one redeeming feature. I also liked the cast of supporting characters.… (altro)
