Nikolia Khardzhiev (1903-96) is a legendary figure in the history of the Russian avant-garde, an outstanding and authoritative researcher who was personally acquainted with many of the artists, poets, writers.and philosopehrs. As well, he was also the first biographyer of Vladimir Mayakovsky and Kazimir Malevich, his personal archives including works of art, manuscripts, his own correspondence with many artists, exhibition catalogues and other materials.
