This is a rock identification book, not a mineral book. it deals with all three, igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary types. It does cover the rock forming minerals to be expected in each rock type. It covers all aspects of the rocks, from the geology in which they formed, to the texture and pattern recognition and uses of the various rock types. it might have been better in color but there are ample black and white illustrations, charts, tables, and drawings.
