Not bad, not sure if I'll finish the series.

A virus killed almost all the adults, then the vampires came. One teenager wants revenge.

3.75/5 ★★★☆☆
One goal of 2019 is to read more manga so i had to start this one before watching the anime and holy moly: i am hooked. i miss the vampire hype so i'm really intrigued to keep reading this series.
i love when everything starts with a tragedy, yeah you read correctly i'm a angst lover so i can't wait to see where the journey goes. our main character is on a revenge mission and THAT ENDING i have a GAY VIBE ABOUT YUU AND MIKA but i have a gay vibe about everything so don't take me too seriously but it's gay, right?
obviously this is just an introduction, i have a feeling it will get better and better.

This is the fifth book in the Seraph of the End series. I really enjoyed the first few books in this manga series, but the last couple have been slow. I thought this one was even slower than volume 4.

This volume starts with Yu getting called in to be interrogated by the upper members of the Hiragi family who are worried he is a vampire spy. After that Yu and crew learn how to manifest and be possessed by their demon weapons in order to increase their effectiveness.

I continue to enjoy the illustration a lot. I like the world here and some of the characters are interesting but I feel like the story has stalled a bit in the last couple volumes.

Overall I thought this volume was okay. I was a bit disappointed in the story progress again...not sure if I will continue the series or not at this point. I unfortunately have to buy each of these volumes (rather than borrow from the library) and I am not sure it’s really worth it.

This was a decent volume in the Seraph of the End series. Yuichiro transforms into a hideous demonic beast and this volume goes through his recovery from that. Mika is also recovering from the last battle after being forcibly removed from it by a Noble vampire.

There is a lot of character development for Yuichiro as he reflects on being grateful for his team and his new friends. This felt like a bit of a transition novel to me...not as much action as previous volumes.

Overall this was a good continuation of the Seraph of the End series. I liked some of the elements introduced around human experimentation and the evil demon-like seraph. I plan on reading the next book in the series, but my interest in this series is starting to wane a bit.

This is the 3rd volume in the Seraph of the End series. There was actually quite a bit of action in this volume but I found it strangely slow. This was my least favorite volume in the SotE series so far and I am struggling to pinpoint why exactly. Maybe it was because there was less story progress and more battles?

Yuichiro and crew journey to their first vampire execution only to find that the city of Shinjuku is under attack. Little does Yu know that his best friend from childhood, Mika, is fighting on the vampires’ side.

The illustration is very well done and I enjoyed seeing Yu and crew go on their first vampire execution. There are some interesting new characters added and it was intriguing to see the world beyond the city where Yu underwent training.

I do absolutely love that there is a “story thus far” summary at the beginning and that all the characters and their histories/stories are also listed. This is so helpful to the reader and I really appreciate it being included.

Overall I enjoyed this volume of SotE but not as much as previous volumes. I do look forward to seeing what happens next and plan on continuing the series.

I really enjoyed this second volume in the Seraph of the End series. I love that there is a quick summary of characters and story-thus-far at the beginning of the book. The illustration continues to be well done and the story was highly entertaining.

In this volume we get to see our lone wolf hero, Yuichiro, get his demon gear and learn about what really happened to his childhood friend (who he has presumed to be dead).

The illustration is top notch and easy to follow. I am enjoying where the story is going and find that characters highly entertaining.

Overall this was a great continuation of the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign series. I would recommend to those who enjoy post-apocalyptic themed manga series with lots of action, vampires, and demons.½

This is the first volume in the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign series. This was a very good manga about a post-apocalyptic earth where humanity is fighting both vampires and monsters by joining with demons.

The first half of the book introduces us to the main characters and shows us how the children of Earth have been being used by the vampires as cattle. Then the book jumps 4 years into the future where Yu is training to be a vampire executioner.

The illustration is well done and the story was interesting and easy to follow.

Overall this was a great start to this manga series. It is one I plan on continuing to read and I would recommend it.
