What was supposed to be a mandatory vacation in Cape James, Virgina turned into something more for U.S. Marshal Jolene Martinez. While out on a boat ride with some friends and the new Chief of Police Norris Stiles, she spots a raft with a child in it floating in the ocean and her instinct kicks in. She jumps into the Atlantic not knowing if the child is alive or dead. Lia, the little girl on the raft is safe now, but where are her parents? Was she kidnapped? With no leads to go on, Norris and Jolene work together to find out what happened to this little girl and to hopefully reunite Lia with her parents.

Jolene and Norris can’t deny the attraction they have to each other, but past mistakes are hard to erase. Neither one of them is looking for a relationship, but working closely together has them both wanting more. I really loved the slow build up between Jolene and Norris. Yes, they were attracted to each other and while they were both contemplating a one night stand, getting to know each other better put a squash on that idea. They genuinely liked and admired each other. Working on the case brought them closer together and they were both able to open up to each other about their past. I really loved the slow build up as they got to know one another. Was there trust in the beginning? No, but as time went by they saw things in each other that they both liked and admired. I felt that they made a great couple throughout the story.

I like that we get to see inside the kidnappers head and get a feel for why Lia was on that boat in the first place. Little by little we learn more of the story and I have to say Autumn Jordan did a great job keeping me guessing as to who the kidnapper was. I am usually pretty good at figuring out who may be the villain, but this time even I was shocked on who it turned out to be. The suspense really kept you going right up to the final moment. There is a twist that was brilliantly done and it was one I never saw coming. It made the kidnapper feel that much more creepier then I would have ever guessed.

Loved By Darkness lived up to all of my expectations and then some. I find that sometimes with romantic suspense, the suspense is usually center stage and the romance part is lacking. You won’t get that here. The suspense and romance were both equal partners and I found it to be such a relief and made the romance that much more believable. I am happy to say that this will not be the last book I pick up from Autumn Jordan. I plan on going back and reading the first two installments to the C.U.F.F. series. Don’t worry, even if you start the series out of order, each book can be read as a standalone.

Perfect Moments by Autumn Jordan
Short story about Elizabeth and she's a solider, on her way home from the war. She recalls when she had first met her husband, Bob.
She and Avery talk to one another with the long hours ahead of them to pass the time. Good recollections of the life they each lead.½

Obsessed by Wildfire by Autumn Jordan
Story about a fireman and his life gets entangled with Isabel. Love the mysteries surrounding the fires and the investigations.
Felt there was way too much sex in the book for me, very erotic.
loved the locale and learning new things. Excerpt from the next in the series is included at the end.

Stephanie Boyd is a divorced mother of 2. While on a camping trip in the woods she and the children hear a horrible accident and run to see if they can help. What they walk into is a hijacking of a semi-truck. To make matters worse it seems her ex husband, who works for the local police dept , and the Sheriff are in on the heist.

After seeing the driver shot by the sheriff her ex husband begs Stephanie to take the kids and to try and get away why he distracts them. But after they kill the sheriff they also kill her ex husband. Steph and the kids do manage to get away and make it to the Pennsylvania State Police Department.

It turns out what Steph witnessed was the Russian Mafia robbing a US Treasury shipment. The FBI and Treasury dept have been trying to catch these guys for a while but have never been able to prove that the Russian Mafia is behind the hijackings. Turns out Steph is the first person to ever see them which makes her very a very important witness for both the FBI and the Treasury Dept but also put a bulls eye on her head along with her kids.

FBI agent John Dolton has lost a lot in his life. First his wife and kids and then recently his best friend and partner in the line of duty who was closing in on Russian Mafia. He really wants to bring them down and convinces Steph to help them try and identify who the shooter was. But what they don’t know is that the Mafia has mole inside the U.S. Treasury and also some law enforcement officers in their pockets.

As Steph is the first and only break John has had in solving the case that cost him his family and his partner he makes it his sole mission to make sure nothing happens to these kids and Steph. But keeping his witnesses safe seems impossible when their every move is foreseen by their enemy. John struggles with Steph and her kids at first as they remind him of the family he has lost. After 2 years he never thought he would feel anything again but he finds himself attracted to Steph and warming up to the kids.

The author did a fantastic job of keeping you guessing who the mole was in the dept. I went back and forth so many times on who it was. You were also on the edge of your seat pretty much from beginning to end with all the attempts on their lives. This was my first time reading this authors but it won’t be my last.

Autumn Jordon has written another edge of your seat thriller. You are on a rollercoaster of a ride from the opening scene to the last.

Nicole Carson was kidnapped by a Russian mafia lord when she was 16. In the 8 years since she has been his mistress and had a child with him. She has been planning for years for ways to get her and her son away from him. Her chance finally comes when he brings home a 13 year old girl and asks her to get her cleaned up and ready. Her fear that this girl was brought in as a replacement for her and that he would now kill her finally gave her the strength to kill him and make her escape.

US Marshall William Haus has been trying to bring down one of the largest human trafficking rings in the country. They have had two agents undercover within the Mafia family for over a year and in one night it’s all blown apart. When Will goes to interview the woman they found with the missing teenager in her trunk he realizes this is the mistress and thinks she has to be in on what is going on.

Nicole refuses to tell anyone the truth about who she really is in fear that her family will be targeted by the Russians. Will tries to make a bargain with her that backfires and causes her to leave her son with him thinking it’s the only way to protect him. Once Will catches up with her and she finally tells him the truth the dynamic of their relationship changes.

From the moment this book started until the last page you are on the edge of your seat. I cannot image what it would be like to be kidnapped at such a young age and basically made a sex slave. All Nicole ever knew about sex was from mafia lord. It was heartbreaking to see her struggle with her feelings for Will and not know if they were real and also to not feel worthy of love.

I cannot wait to see what is next from Autumn. I have to come to love her stories.

Quick read that had a smoldering romance and a firebug out of control. For its shortness we still got a fleshed out story of a State Fire Marshal who’s in the small Texas town to investigate a rash of barn burnings and tough as nails barrel racer Isobel Trinidad. Would have loved for the book to have been longer but overall it was satisfying.

Autumn Jordon’s Love series is just that – about sweet love. No angsty drama, just two people’s journey to falling in love. This is the 2nd book in the series and its about a second chance between two people whose lives took them in opposite directions but they find themselves back in Black Moose – one trying to live a normal life and the other trying to put his back together.

Autumn Jordon is back with the second book in the C.U.F.F. Series which is about an elite team of U.S. Marshal's. This time the team goes undercover at a college after a third death of a student from a new drug.

Emma Lewis unfortunately finds the latest student dead from a new drug. As she wasn't close with the girl that died she thought once she gave her statement things would be over for her. But little did she know that because of her being a Chemistry graduate student she was at the top of the suspect list and U.S. Marshal Chase Hunter goes in under cover as a college student to get close to her. Emma is truly innocent and has no clue about who could be making and selling this new drug that is killing college kids and she is also clueless that she is closer to the danger that she can even imagine.

As the story progresses you see that the author has thrown in a lot of red herrings and all it not as it seems. There is a twist you dont see coming.

Review:

"Perfect" by Autumn Jordon was a wonderful love Christmas story. It will be a short read that will put a beautiful smile on your face as you will be kept reading until the very end. Who knew that after Darcy's dream went up in smoke she travels to Black Moose, VT to visit her old friend during the Christmas holidays where he could help her with her grief. It was on this visit that Darcy meets her old friend's best friend, Dylan Kincaid. Was is love a first site? We find Dylan is caring for his two nieces who parents were in the service. Dylan is trying to make the girls holiday a perfect one since Thanksgiving had not gone so well. So, with Dylan working on his job, the many jobs that his brother had taken on in this small town and trying to keep it all together for the girls, he realized he had his hands full. After Darcy and Dylan meet they immediately notice the instant attraction, however it would soon established that they just wanted to be friends especially due to fact they were not interested in a 'short affair nor a long distance relationship.' Would this friendship really work out the way these two had wanted it? This is where I say you must pick up "Perfect" to see how this author brings this Christmas romance all out. I found all of the characters so well developed and oh so colorful.

The title "Perfect" is so perfect for the Christmas season. So if you are looking for a novel that is sweet, fast read with a romantic holiday theme with all the trimmings ...then you have come to the right place and I would definitely recommend this novel to you. This was a beautiful Christmas story.

If you're looking for a fast paced, page turning romantic suspense, then His Witness to Evil fits the bill. This book starts off with a bang and never slows down. I think one of the best parts about the book is the fast pacing. I loved the hero, Agent John Dolton. His character development was the high point of the book for me. He is dealing with the loss of his family and he finds love protecting a widow and her two children. The heroine, Stephanie, is believable and the family element adds a nice touch to this suspense. The villains are what they should be, and the plot twists are solid. I would recommend.

Perfect by Autumn Jordan
Darcy Witherspoon has just watched her restaurant burn and now there was nothing left to do.
Dylan Kincaid is watching his two nieces as their parents are off fighting the war overseas. He has to pull off Christmas for two girls and has no idea what their interests are. He is a VT maple tree farmer.
Knowing the general area this is going to be a great book. Love reading about the area and most particularly trees as my relatives were nurserymen. Love all the jobs he has and learning about them all.
They met at Tom's restaurant, the old grist mill and she had just driven up from SC and would be staying there getting things settled after the fire. Loved hearing about the history of the grist mill and all the detailed descriptions of the rooms and outside area.
Tom will work his skill with matchmaking them together and hopefully keep her there longterm because they'd be perfect for one another.
Dylan and Darcy come to an agreement, she will help him decorate and bake and cook dinner and he will teach her to ski.
They take things slow but each are on the others mind.
Problem: his parents show up to help out with the girls...
Tom and the grist mill restaurant have a new dream now, maybe she can have a new dream also....
Just when things are sexually heating up and you think nothing else bad can happen, it does...
Awesome book for this time of year, just the right touch of things I look forward to in a book. Baking, travel=locale, nature with a bit of romance/sex.

Cole Hanson and Gina Rizzo, well-matched in wit and determination, provide the perfect protagonists for this face-paced tale of inexplicable evil. Set in a small town with a limited yet fascinatingly diverse cast of characters, Ms. Jordon’s story unmasks villains throughout yet saves the real heart-in-mouth action for the last few chapters—always a good ploy in romantic suspense.

As the town of Mountain Pine unravels—five murders in just a few months—former foster-child-turned Marine Cole Hanson shows up again to tie up the loose ends in his own life—namely, Gina Rizzo, the girl he loved and left behind. The underhanded moves to keep them apart a dozen years earlier, however, are nothing compared to what they face now.

One just knows it will be happily-ever-after for Cole and Gina now—that is, if they can stay alive long enough to claim their future.

In the Presence of Evil is a book to be read at one-sitting on a long weekend—or to hurry back to if it must necessarily be set aside.
