When I first started reading Power I learnt that Allison was a single mum at age 21 which is not the norm for books I just thought to myself when I read it, I was a single mum at 21 too so we had something in common oh and the fact they we are both impatient. I liked this book because Allison is not a stereotypical single mom and her powers have just awakened she is a descendant with Angel Power, who is to save the world against demons. Yes I have read several Angel versus Demon books but this one was fantastic. It was well written, the plot flowed at a great pace and the detailing was great.

It was a brilliant debut novel

Coming home to see your parents brutally murdered is a huge thing to deal with but when someone else is in the house, Alec a Realm Guard, who tells you that you are not who you think you, that magic and fairies are real are, just adds to that huge deal. Lily wants revenge for her parents death and Alec is right by her side to help her.
Alec and Lily are Sylphs although Lily won’t come into her magic or grow her wings until her eighteenth birthday which is just two weeks away. During that time she meets different fairies some good, some bad, a unicorn and so much more. This is the world she had dreamed of before but thought it was just a dream.

This was a great start to the trilogy, Theresa M. Jones gave a lot of thought into the setting of her world and so much detail you can really picture yourself in Empyrean. I felt that I got to know both Lily and Alec so well and that I was in their shoes.
I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down, it was so good.
I am really looking forward to reading the second book in the series, with lots of secrets revealed in this book I am sure book 2 will be just as good if not even better.

I was excited to read the second book in the series as I really enjoyed the first book. This book carries on from where the first left off with just a small amount of time passing in between. Lily and Alec continue their quest to find Lily's parents murderers. They join the Rebels who are trying to over throw the King and give the Kingdom to the rightful heir which is Lily. There is a lot of fighting and violence in this book.
Lily also has to learn to use her powers, as she is half Sylph and half Pixie she could have been spoilt but she was lucky and had both powers, one which was easy to come by but the other needed much work to get right.
She also had her emotions to deal with, falling in love with Alec and him blowing hot and cold was confusing for her. Will he confess his true feelings or will he keep blowing hot and cold with her? Will they find those who killed her parents? and how many deaths will happen along the way? You will have to read it to find out.
It is a gripping read and I could not put it down, I needed to know what would happen next and there are a few twists in it.

*I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest unbiased review.

Hope is the second book in the Descendant Trilogy and it carried on from where the first book in the series ended. Starting off with Allison and David totally in love and about to get married everything is going really well, Samantha’s powers were about to kick in too but the fight to save the world is not over yet. Lilith who is now leader of The Rising wants Allison to pay for her crimes against them.

A lot of the book was taken up by the relationship of David and Allison.I think there could have been a great deal more action in Hope. I think the book could have focused more on the impending apocalypse rather than the soppy stuff.… (altro)
