I had a lot of trouble putting this book down. Jade was an enjoyable protagonist who discovered her life was far more interesting than she'd ever imagined. I was immediately pulled into the action, and I couldn't wait to see where this adventure led me next.

The creative world of Elyndia is filled with fascinating characters, fantastical creatures, and unusual landscape. Surprises erupted at every turn. I loved how the story didn't follow a typical fantasy pattern and mirrored life with twists and turns that couldn't be predicted.

Lots of action and suspense keep the characters on the move throughout the story. I raced through the book right beside them and enjoyed every moment.

I loved the character of Jade in the first book, Awakened, but found her even more intriguing in this sequel. The author does an excellent job of relaying information from the first book without dumping it on us to help us remember what has gone before. Draven is a despicable person, but we learn so much about how he became who he is that I found his actions to be understandable, if not forgivable.

It is a welcome addition to this series. Hope there are many more books to come in this intriguing world of Elyndia.
