I found this story difficult both to process and to review. It's technically well-written and the story is intriguing. But, sadly, there are a number of things that detract from that and made it difficult for me to really enjoy. The story is a bit unbelievable (there seems to be a confusion between the role of 'insurance investigators' and 'police' here) and the way the relationships progress seem forced and unrealistic as well. Two stars for this one.

A short, fast-paced read, this story has some suspense, a mystery and a developing relationship all wrapped up in its few pages. With two very likeable main characters, a bit of a fairy tale flair, and a very happy ending, this is just the right thing for an entertaining hour or so.

Nicholas Haynes may seem like a spoilt little rich boy, but he is anything but. He works hard in his father's company, and though he has all the trappings of a rich man (like the amazing penthouse and the yacht), he also has an innate sense of right and wrong, as well as a readiness to help those who need it. I think he likes being the knight in shining armor, and he definitely pulls out all the stops for Gregory.

Gregory is a PI who is in way over his head. He's after some suspects when they decide to kill him, and he almost ends up dead. Luckily, Nicholas saves him. Gregory isn’t immediately convinced that the millionaire is as selfless as he seems, but he is attracted to him. Once Gregory trusts Nicholas, the sparks fly and things move very quickly.

If you like mysteries, if you want to see a PI being rescued by a very rich and very nice "white knight", and if you're looking for a short, entertaining read with a touch of mystery, you will probably enjoy this short story.

I liked this imaginative story, full of magic and mystery. The power of dreams fascinates me, and in this story, dreams turn out to be deadly. A dreamcatcher, handed down over generations, turns out to be just what Jordan needs to save his best friend, Jamie.

Jordan and Jamie are best friends, and when children start falling asleep, only never to wake up and die instead, he is scared. Not sure what to do, and not sure which of the old legends to believe, he doesn't take things too seriously - until Jamie is the one affected. Suddenly, the battle is personal, Jordan has a reason to get involved, and he figures out what he has to do.

Jamie, a guy who locks like a jock but has no interest in sports, supports whatever his best friend is up to. In the way of boys loyal to each other, he's the one who figures out what to when Jordan is in danger.

If you like sweet stories about teenagers figuring out their roles in life, if you enjoy reading about slightly mysterious events, and if you're looking for a read with a tough of magic, you will probably like this short story. I enjoyed it a lot!

This is a very short, very sweet story about an abused man who flees from everyone he knows, only to find out that Santa Claus and the Big Boss were looking out for him in a rather unusual way. With the definite feel of a fairy tale, be ready for a few cute surprises, extra Christmas magic, and some miraculous falling-in-love.

Oliver is in a very sad state after running from the hospital. I can see how fear drove him to do it, but the consequences of being stuck all alone in a remote cabin with no help, a broken arm, and an injured ankle mean that he's not exactly safe. Add the nightmares he still has and he's not in a good place when a stranger suddenly appears to help him.

Derek is an unexpected "Christmas present" who arrives through the chimney and tries to win Oliver's trust. Not an easy task under the circumstances, but luckily, Derek is extremely determined. And I thought the mistletoe was a very nice touch indeed!

If you like miraculous solutions, and are looking for a sweet read that will make you smile, then you will probably like this short story.
