Not my normal genre (romantic).

Tom_Wright | 4 altre recensioni | Oct 11, 2023 | This Short Story is set in what appears to be a fantasy setting of an Old-English Court - one in which magic exists and necromancy is illegal, but practiced.
Enjoyable writing, likable characters, interesting story, but something was missing. Overall this was a four star read with such great potential to be a five star, it was almost disappointing when it fell short. I wanted more or at least the indication of the direction the story would go in the future. I wanted to know more about the magic and its effects. I wanted to know more about the black cat familiar and his abilities. In a nut shell I wanted more.
I have no issues with cliff-hangers in novels, but in the world of shorts you need a contained story or a good lead in to another story.
I love the way the storyline was going and hope there are more works in progress from this talented author.… (altro)

CAKing | 4 altre recensioni | Oct 30, 2020 | The world-building within Larkspur is absolutely beautiful and so very, very well done that we can see into this Victorian world as if we’re there. With a unique magic system and twisted ambitions, this short story is a very compelling read that to me is very reminisce of Edgar Allen Poe. I can’t wait to see what the next volume has to offer!
