Synopsis: Shane was fostered by Kate's aunt and uncle so they grew up as friends. Later, Shane married Kate's best friend, Rachel. Shane is military and deployed frequently so during those times Kate would help Rachel with the kids.
At the start of the book Rachel dies in a car accident and Kate steps in to help Shane raise the kids.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I thought this premise had promise. I love watching characters fall in love while co-parenting children together and the fact that both Shane and Kate adored Rachel and the children offered great potential to bring the couple together.

I liked the discussion in this book about the difficulties of having a family when one member is in the service. I was previously a military spouse and it is demanding both for the service member and also the rest of the family.

I thought the children in this book were overall well developed and fun to read about. They played big roles in the story and were front and center throughout.

My biggest issue with this book is that Shane was constantly mean to Kate and she didn't deserve it. I felt like the author tried to justify him being a jerk with both the grief for his departed wife and his childhood in foster care but it didn't work for me. I didn't feel that there was a significant enough change in his behavior to have me believing by the end of the book that these characters were capable of a happily ever after together.

I felt like we didn't see enough of Shane and Kate getting along. Especially during his deployment the reader is told there are phone calls and messages where Shane and Kate grew close but I didn't think we saw many of those. The arguing and Shane being awful happened significantly more than Shane and Kate being nice and falling in love which was a shame because it was such a nice premise.

Now that's what I'm talking about! This is going into my favorites and had all the elements that I enjoy when reading a book. I could barely put this down and thought about the story even when I wasn't able to read it(damn job!). It had some angst but nothing that lasted too long. The romance part was HOT! Love it.

The beginning had me but then it all went back to the beginning when they first met. I was excited to find out how the situation at the first of the book was going to wrap up. I had to read the entire book with Callie making one stupid decision after another then blaming everybody else! She loves Asa so much but won't move to where he is at....HUH?? It would have been much better if only half the book had told the past parts then continued on. I hated there was so much time apart between Callie and Asa. I loved the first book but this one was nowhere near as good!

Just as nice on the second reading.

Wow, I really loved this book. I was drawn right in and read it straight through in one sitting. Characterization was very well done. It was told alternately from the POV of the hero and then the heroine throughout. I felt that the author really captured the personality of the hero which is sometimes not the case with women writing male POV. The heroine was a wonderful person also. She just hung in there. Kudos to the author for writing children who acted appropriately for their ages.

I totally believed this love story.

Minor editing issue rigid and ridged are not interchangeable.

Pretty good. I didn't like it quite as much as I did the first one. The hero here was a bit of an ass. There were some real life happenings that added to the honest feel of the book.

Pretty good MC romance. The major thing that bothered me was that they had had a one night stand 5 years ago but when they get back together they treat if like it was a long standing relationship. I liked the character of the heroine. I believed in her desire for some other kind of life and her eventual acceptance that she could make her life in the MC mostly because she had to in order to be with the people she loved. The hero was lovely and hot. There was a lot of high emotion between them that was fun to read. The sex was hot and it was interesting to read about a woman who was submissive in the bedroom without the whole BDSM element which I think is rather more common that not. But that's a whole other conversation for a different venue.

So I really enjoyed the story and might try the next one.

I really like this author. I was a bit on the fence with this one though. Usually I love when books start with the characters are young but this one bothered me. I think it's because I expected a certain amount of the book to be about them meeting when they were young and then picking up when they were adults and the story developing from there. Instead the story started with the present then flashed back to their meeting and continued in a linear fashion from that point telling the entire five years straight through to where the story started and then it ended. There was actually nothing to the story left at that point. It was basically the end. Hmmm....

Well I was pretty disappointed in this one. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to write home about either. I'm not sure how many pages it was but it felt really short. The hero and heroine barely spent any time together. The hero was pretty much instantly in love with her. There was very little conflict in the book. I didn't really care for the heroine at all and I don't know why the hero loved her. She was mostly a bitch to him. I think if you're trying to sell me on the fact that the heroine is smart and sweet and caring you need to show me a few instances of her being that way. Meh.

One point in favor of the book was that the baby was written age appropriately. So yeah for that.

Its well written. Packs quite an emotional punch.
I am not keen on siblings going out with each others exes but they are foster kids together so not biological brothers.
There are no intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine. No scenes with the heroine and the dead ex and Hero's foster brother, Henry.
Cute kid, good secondary characters.
No cheating.

I found both the characters really annoying at times. Too much happening, however, a few parts were a surprise to me in this one instead of being obvious! Still only gets 3 stars because I couldn't reach through the screen and strangle each one of them. But I did enjoy Gram!

This story is about a family that is struggling. They have lost their youngest member to war and have now discovered that he has secrets of his own. Trevor Harris has been left to tidy up his little brother's mess, that includes a child name Henrietta (commonly known as Etta) and her mother, Morgan. Morgan had grown accustomed to raising her young daughter by herself but when her father's family starts appearing and wanting contact she is unsure what to make of it after her father Henry decided that he wanted nothing to their daughter. Morgan knows the Harris family are good people because the took her in as a foster child for a summer, but she is unsure what they will think of her as a parent. Trevor has decided to do everything in his power to protect Morgan and Etta, the way his brother should have.

This story is told in alternating first person's point of view. You have Morgan who tells her story of having a hard time letting someone else in to help with Etta after Henry leaving and doing everything on her own. It also shows her romantic struggles for Trevor and the tense relationship between her and the boys' mother. Trevor's story is about finding out about his niece but also discovering his attraction for her mother and wondering how that will come into play. Trevor and Morgan's romance is slowly developed as the both are wondering what lines can and can not be crossed. The story is evenly paced but is told as two separate tales for most of the story, it does not really begin to blend till towards the end. The writing and language are good and get you connected to the characters and setting.

Yes, I would recommend this book. The story is all about finding family in a unique way. It is also about recovery and grief and how it affects our minds and what we think and do. It's for those who believe in unconditional love and love knows no bounds. It would be good for any young woman or man who wants to believe in love or all kinds.

That's a fantastic book! I loved Kate and Shane. He's an ass but a lovable one! I enjoyed this book so much! I have no words to say how much. I just couldn't stop reading it. I have no idea how good lunch and dinner was because I could barely stop reading while cooking and/or doing the dishes.

I had to force myself to get through this one because i hate leaving a book unfinished. First the storyline was so messed up, second Shane turned my stomach no redeeming qualities, and Kate was just a pathetic doormat the end.

FGMAMTC Blog Review

Craving Constellations is book 1 of The Aces MC Series, and what a strong start it is.  There are many, many motorcycle club books out and coming out every day.  Often they get lost in the shuffle because they don't quite have that "stand out" factor.  This is not one of them.  I have not heard anyone comment about this being just another MC book.

The storyline is pretty gritty.  That was a draw for me.  It can't be rainbows all the time, ya know.  I liked the strength and rawness of the characters.

Brenna grew up in the MC life.  She decided it wasn't the life she wanted so she cut all ties and ran in a totally different direction.  She ended up a step ford housewife to an perfect-appearances-on-the-outside-psycho-on-the-inside upper crust man.

Finally, unable to take anymore, she runs back to the ones she left behind.

I knew what I needed to know.  We were his.  It was as terrifying and as simple as that.

Dragon is a real man's man, the kind that works in grease, drinks whiskey and talks with his body (whether it's his fist, his tongue...or other parts).

He takes responsibility for what's his.

They were the most beautiful things I had ever seen in my entire goddamn life, and they worth every fuckin' bruise I had.

Brenna and Dragon met 5 years before.  Neither has been able to get the other out of their minds.  They connected mentally and physically causing several outcomes.

I highly recommend this book.  It's for those that like men on the tough side more than the sensitive side.  Also be warned, there is some domestic violence, but overall, it is an excellent read.

There's quite a bit about astronomy and constellations in this book, it's sort of an underlying theme.  I found this and thought it looked like a motorcycle and rider and thought I'd share.

FGMAMTC Blog Review
If you're like me, you've backed off on reading MC books. It seemed all of the sudden the indie market is full of them. This series is one that I still recommend you take the time to check out.

These books are about the Aces MC but most of the POV seems to come from the women who love them instead of within the club. Craving Redemption is the story of Grease/Asa and Callie/Calliope.

The tale begins with the ending of book 1, Callie showing up at the Aces compound flipping out. Then it rewinds to the beginning of what led to it all, Callie as a naïve 16 year old high school junior sneaking out to a party, where she has no business being, as an act of rebellion against her parents. Grease is only 20, but he was raised inside the Aces MC and has many years of life experience on Callie. He's on club business and shows up at the same party. The situation goes down hill quickly, and Asa saves Callie.
The whole night had turned into some after school special, a warning for kids who disobeyed their parents and drank alcohol.

This single instance starts the snowball rolling on all the ups and downs for the entire story, which covers the very emotional deaths, lives, trials, relationships and outcomes over several years.

There are many repeat characters we see from book 1, and probably will continue to see. We also meet several new characters. One of those is Gram, Callie's grandmother. This lady almost stole the show in my opinion. She's a spitfire full of grit and unconditional love, a soldier in life and a mother/grandmother figure to all she finds and claims.
"I'd never let one of mine face something like this alone."

"Nothin's different for me. You're still one of mine."

We met Grease in book 1, but find out about Asa in this book.
I lay there in a daze and watched him, the veins in his neck bulging and his thrusts becoming short as he reached his own orgasm.
He was the beautiful one.

There are a couple of things you should know about Asa. He is 100% against a man ever hitting a woman. I know that this was an issue for some with book 1. As far as I can tell, he isn't a cheater, which is an issue for many when reading MC or alpha books. He is super respectful while still having the bad boy appeal. His only issue is trying to give too much. A person can't give more than 100%. And that has to be divided between all the areas in the person's life.
I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone, watching the big biker speak to my Gram as if she was The Queen of England. He never once swore, though my grandma did, and his table manners were impeccable. Who was this guy?

"Baby, we're in her house. She's cooking for us, letting us crash here, and she's your grandmother. Woman deserves respect."

We also get glimpses of what is coming in the next book which will focus on Cody/Casper and Farrah. We met Casper in book 1 and Cody (pre-Aces) in book 2. Cody is Callie's brother, and Farrah is her best friend.

I love Asa. He is one of my new top book boyfriends. He has the patience of a saint and usually always knows the right move to make to give his girl what she needs. And I loved this story, although the ending did seem rushed. That part could have been smoother. I like how the story lines are going with all of the characters' lives interwoven and the layers. We learn about everyone is both books even if they aren't the main leads. It adds more depth to the story. I plan to continue to keep up with this series, and I recommend that you do the same.

FGMAMTC Blog Review  Excerpt & Giveaway
Wow this story was amazing. I couldn’t put it down all day. I suggest blocking out enough time to read it in one go because you won’t want to stop.
From the beginning, I loved the family closeness and the outgoing personalities. Everyone was likable. Then the sexy was oh so yummy. Those points enough would have made it a great book, all sassy and hot, but then the heart moments were thrown in. The feels piled up all over me, and I loved every minute of it.
I smiled a lot and shed many tears. A book that moves me emotionally is always my goal. Change of Heart is definitely a winner.
