A decent account of the multiple and interconnected financial crisis of recent years. It is clear that Islam intends this to be the comprehensive popular account of this hugely important period. He partly succeeds and 'The Default Line' is wide ranging and pacy. However, I personally found his written style a little cloying and occasionally prone to lazy metaphors and clichés. A solid enough account and worth a read, but there are better out there.
