Dick Hughes (1931–2018)

More like a geneology than an autobiography - the first seven chapters were just a list of names, names of forgotten journalists who played guitar once, and barristers-to-be who were in the audience. no personal reflection at all, just a few hints at what must have been profoundly difficult times. the most tedious reading i've done in years.
But from chapter eight on, when the places and faces become recognisable and the stories become interesting, it improves a lot. Too many names still, but great journalism.… (altro)
