Engaging and informative book about the Founding Fathers. Ellis discusses the relationships between some of the Founders and how this played out in forming the nation. Some things, such as the Hamilton/Burr rivalry have been told before and seem a little forced into the narrative.

Still, this is a fantastic book which I strongly recommend. Joseph Ellis has written other equally interesting and educational books such as Jefferson’s bio “American Sphinx” Washington’s “His Excellency” and others.
