- Peter Hinssen is one of Europe’s thought leaders on the impact of technology on our society. He has a focus on the consumer adoption of technology, on the impact of the networked digital society and on the alignment between Business and IT.
Peter is co-founder of Across Group and Chairman of Across Technology and is currently involved as a coach to executives to develop perspectives on the future and how to drive innovation. He is also a board advisor on subjects related to innovation and IT. He develops executive education workshops and awareness sessions to bring business challenges with IT solutions, and to leverage the innovation potential of IT.
Peter lectures at various business schools in Europe such as London Business School (UK) and Antwerp Management School (Belgium). Peter is a passionate keynote speaker who is frequently welcomed at forums and conferences around the world.

Wat het boek sterk maakt, is het uitgangspunt. Laat ons eens kijken waar we zullen staan als we de digitale evolutie doordenken tot in zijn limieten. Dus in plaats van ons af te vragen wat de volgende stap zal zijn in de evolutie - welk gadget kunnen we verwachten na de iPad? - maken we een sprong naar het eindpunt. Dat levert weinig tastbare resultaten - de gadgets kunnen we ons niet echt voorstellen - maar wel zicht op de limieten waarop we ons zullen moeten richten.
Wie Hinssen al heeft horen spreken, merkt dat het boek geschreven is zoals zijn lezingen. Je vliegt erdoor met een rotvaart en aan het einde van de rit blijf je wat duizelig achter. Gelukkig vat hij in de laatste pagina's alles nog even snel samen. De limiet van lengte is nul, schrijft hij zelf en de drie pagina's 'executive summary' (aan het einde weliswaar) zijn ongetwijfeld het formaat van een boek in het Nieuwe Normaal dat hij beshrijft.
De snelheid is meteen ook de grootste beperking van het boek. Niet alle redeneringen zijn even zorgvuldig opgebouwd. Maar Hinssen nodigt ons geregeld uit om zelf na te denken en geeft ons meteen de nodige schema's mee om dat te doen.
