When you get the acronym wrong IN THE SAME SENTENCE as the words it represents... “ASIS stand for Australian Secret Intelligence Agency.” That landed like a 3-days dead fish.
This on top of being so Mary-Sue as to make a Disney Princess blush.
Also, the POV character really shouldn’t reveal information during her internal monologue that isn’t natural to the scene. Describing how her friends met each other - almost a decade before the POV character moved to town - felt awkward.
This was bad on toast.
