The author who wrote this book is a technical writer and science education consultant. The book contains a glossary which is helpful to the reader. A bibliography is also supplied. Many of the works or books of Archimedes are mentioned in the text and for a better explanation of them and section at the end of the book called Works of Archimedes explains them in more detail. As a math teacher I think it is valuable for students to learn about ancient mathematicians. This book is easy to read and understand. When talking about the number Pi it is important for a math teacher to mention Archimedes and how he calculated an approximate value for Pi. Math is more than numbers. It is also about the people who discovered its concepts. The book also mentions other scientific and mathematical inventions/theories that other ancient men created.… (altro)
