Hymn Herself

This is an incredibly personal and poignant account of the author’s stay in McLean Hospital for mental illness. House Full of Insects is reminiscent of Girl, Interrupted. Hymn Herself doesn’t shy away from what put her in a psych ward, nor does she sugar coat or romanticize it. She simply writes what happened, and the result is incredibly moving and inspiring. This short read is well worth it.
