OH MY WORD!! I loved this book, but I did not like Katie's thieving BFF , Maddie. They were in college and I felt that she was taking advantage of their friendship. I felt bad when Katie's mom died and that she did not tell her dad what was going on at college and how she felt about her home. It was clear that her TA, Bryce was attracted to her and I liked how he protected her. I AM GLAD THAT THIS IS ONLY BOOK ONE, AND I CAN NOT WAIT TO READ THE REST!!

THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST BOOK I EVER READ THIS YEAR!! I didn't like the ditsy Amanda who should have been scared when she learned that she was marked for death by demons, but the silly goof found it funny when John had to save her time and time again! I felt that John was a trouble man who just wanted to save down angels so that he could ascend to Heaven, but his past caught up with his future.

OH, I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I was sad that Medusa had to live without love thanks to Athena changing her as Medusa's beauty was more than hers and she was jealous so she convince her relative to rape the little priestess. Medusa had followed Athena and she was no longer a virgin and she ran away from the temple to Florida to become a librarian in a small college town to hide away. I loved that Ash fell in love with her on first sight and convinced to go on a date to the movies. That was the end of her happiness as she was surrounded by Athena's goons.… (altro)

I can't rightfully give this book a star rating as I had to push myself through 25% of it and I still decided to DNF.

This book is marketed (on Amazon) as being part of a series, but able to be read standalone...well, be prepared to be confused jumping into this one without reading the other two books first. I definitely was! There seems to be a lot of backstory that gets missed.

So, why did I DNF, you may ask...
The driving force behind the bit of plot I trudged through is Cadence's relationship with her boyfriend, Bryce...and don't get me wrong, I love a good romance novel, but when the MC is immature/childish and entitled, it just all felt off. I really hoped for more driving the story (I mean, come on...witches! I love a good witchy story) and because of the qualities of Cadence, I just couldn't bring myself to push past 25%.

I mean, the cover art is gorgeous though...so there's that at least?

Thank you to AL Hawke via LibraryThing for providing an e-arc for me to read and review honestly. I am sorry I didn't enjoy it.
