Small town florist, Bretta Solomon has taken on the job of flowering up a park for a very wealthy set of nuptials. The mother of the bride is a constant ache of persnickety annoyance. Even when a hired landscaper drops dead at her feet of a heart attack and the designated hairdresser is found murdered in the back of her salon, hoity toity Evelyn Montgomery focuses only on perfecting her daughter’s day, brushing off the deaths as no more than setbacks to her plans.

In a carry over from her last book, a man of desire re-enters her life as her new neighbor and they meekly try to start a relationship, until an attempt of her life waylaid their steps. Meanwhile, the father that deserted her and her mother is now living with her and trying to make amends while adding his own sleuthing abilities to keep her safe and find out why there is a need to.

There is a deep dive into philosophy with Aristotle’s works playing a major role and giving this read a more provoking stance than the general mystery. Quite enjoyable. Plus, an added lesson on the not-so-lovely language of flowers and a bit of botany. Nothing beats an entertaining book that has a lesson or two added into the pages.

Indie florist, Bretta Solomon has partaken the duty of event coordinator for a florist convention held in a swanky hotel with minions to do her bidding. Things are running smoothly until ..

Finding an envelope inside her hotel room and then being handed a series of messages from the parents of their recently deceased daughter starts an uncharted course to an as yet unselected destination.

Too soon, injuries and deaths occur without reasonable intent. Bretta, and a couple unlikely, but most enjoyable sidekicks, sleuth about trying to find First the why and then the who. Add in a (excuse the timely pun) budding romance and things get enticing quite quick.

There’s too many surprises to give away by saying much more and I’d hate to spoil your fun, so I’ll just say this is an adventure you’ll enjoy and leave you to it.… (altro)

Florist, and oft time sleuth, Bretta Solomon attends a festive night’s soirée at a nursery that supplies her with goods, along with her father. As he strolls off for a little acquaintance time with an attendee, he happens to stumble over the leg of a brutally murdered employee.

With the sheriff’s blessing, given her success rate, she starts her nosing about. Too soon, someone lets it be known their blessing won’t be forthcoming, but a couple bricks through her shop windows will.

I appreciate the intellect given these books. Nothing silly, yet nothing too horrific that keeps you from wanting to read more.

A continuation from past books, Bretta’s reacquaintance with her estranged father and budding relationship with an ex-DEA agent play an adept supporting cast, along with her 3 most prominent employees and quasi-friend sherif.

Each book seems to have an eclectic lesson tucked in its pages, as this one offers a glimpse into botany. I hope there are more to come, because I’m hooked!… (altro)

Bretta Solomon is a florist still suffering the sudden death of her cop husband 15 months prior as she struggles with her conscious in making money off of other families deaths, via the floral arrangements ordered and sold.

When a local Amish friend calls to ask her assistance in looking into the suspicious death of his brother, aka her flower supplier, she agrees to give it her best. Delving into the quiet ways of the secluded Amish does not offer up much in the way of clues, so extenuating associations must be her sources.

Placing herself in several dangerous situations (as any sleuth would do) she digs and annoys with little in the way of assistance. Even the brother is reticent in offerings, but there when needed.

Not as cozy as most mysteries, it still tingles with excitement. A cast of potentials keep us guessing until the last scene.… (altro)
