I do not care for any of the characters in this book. Our hero is unlikeable on purpose, and I know he will get his time to shine but with the parents being buttheads and Aubrey constantly digging herself in a hole with her lies I don’t have anyone to hold on to.½

I really enjoyed the build-up in this novella, but then it abruptly ended! I would have preferred a few more chapters - which is why I am not giving this a 3.5 or 4 star rating. But the writing is good and this has so funny moments.

3.5 stars for this novella. I would have preferred a little different ending, was a little too billionaire boss man for me. But the relationship that began via a letter-writing app (isn’t it just email lol) and turns into a forbidden age difference situation are some of my favorite tropes. I don’t care I don’t care.

I am a serial trilogy reader I guess because I picked this up as a read for one of my book clubs. I had to finish the entire series. it was a nice quick read. I enjoyed it.

so I should be reading more of my books for my challenges that I have signed up for but but I couldn't resist not finishing at least the second book in this series. I love Aubrey and Andrew..l I dont want to add spoilers to this review but I will say that this is easy breezy and short but very much so a must read!

I adored this book and wasn't upset that it was so short! I will definately be reading the rest of this series. Andrew is refreshing and the twenty-two year old intern is adorable!

I really liked this one. Normally I don't like stretched out romances but this one was done right in my opinion. A nice slow burn, that isn't a will they won't they. Its her loathing him but unable to pull away until she is finally fed up and him patiently pursing her. I love when she learns all that he's done for her and how much he knows about her. I love how he slowly becomes more human. I also adore her friend basically screaming "danger Will Robinson" when Tara starts falling for him. I also like how she stuck to her guns.

Funny, shes hating him but lusting him. He is angry that she wants to leave but doesn't under how much of a d-bag he is. The fact that she doesn't check her email send-to line and did that multiple times is fking hilarious.

A pilot and flight attendant having no strings attached sex with rules in all of the layover cities where their schedule coincides. Both have secrets and of course she starts falling and he wants nothing but sex. Breaking airline policy and sneaking around everywhere with the mystery of his past and her not coming clean about hers. Blogs and short chapters. She keeps going back even though it's killing her and he treats her like a toy.

Andrew & Alyssa are both liars and pretending to be someone else. Texting and talking for months without meeting each other has him wanting to meet so they can have sex. He's a one night no repeat lawyer with no friends and a mysterious past and she's a law student and ballerina that has horrible parents. This is all SLOWLY revealed through three books. Andrew is rude and demanding and hates liars and really just wants sex. Alyssa wants a relationship. They finally meet under funny circumstances and begin what can be described as an office affair. Domineering and demanding, Andrew takes charge and makes all of the rules and Alyssa is kind of weak and goes along and then throws fits when things don't go her way. Lies come to fruition and identities are revealed and the book becomes disjointed.

SPLENDIDO DUBBIO VOL. 1

Perfect short book. I listened to the audiobook version, narrated by Muffy Newtown and Joe Arden. A little friends to lovers and a little off-limits/taboo. Although the book was a fairly short novella there was plenty of build up and tension followed by plenty of steam. A complete story without a ton of long drawn-out drama.

In theory, this story sounds like a fun rom com. And it could have been. But it just didn’t work for me. There were some cute and funny moments. But a lot of it was just kind of strange. I couldn’t really get a handle on the characters and couldn’t really make much of a connection with them. I didn’t understand the mandatory work “party” that lasted for weeks and forced the employees to work and be away from their families. Even if it was an all inclusive paid trip to a vacation wonderland. What was the point if the bosses were just going to overwork them? And I get that out main characters apparently had a love/hate thing going for years. But they went from toxic to not in the span of a nanosecond and it left me kind of confused. Yeah, I didn’t quite get this book. But I did love the cover.

4.1 stars

Why isn't this longer?!?!?! The premise of this whole story is FANTASTIC. I was all in. I loved the bantering. I loved the texts. I loved the characters. AND, I loved the steam. The ending was fantastic. If this had been a whole book, it would have been a favorite.

That being said, this was still a great little diversion read filled with snark, humor, steam, and smexy times.

I'm not sure why I hadn't read this book before now , especially, because it had been on my TBR for years. This was a highly entertaining book. I liked the characters and their chemistry. Jake was grumpy and set in his ways and Gillian was more sunshine and outgoing. It worked for these two.

There were a few areas that I wished had been fleshed out, mainly everything with his family. I felt more resolution and details were needed. Still, highly recommend this book and author.

Another great read from my personal library. This is the first Whitney G book, I've read and will be reading more. Actually, I have two more of her books in my Amazon wish list.

This novel is an enemies to lovers with a slight twist. To be honest, I don't think they were ever enemies but the characters state that they are...so I'll go with it.

Rachel Dawson was supposed to be a boy...well that's what Ethan Wyatt's mother told him about the new family moving in down the road when he was eight. But no...he's stuck with yet another girl in the neighborhood. For a split second, he thought that she might be cool...for a girl, cause she has all the same comic books that he does and she is wearing a Captain America shirt. But then she pushes him down the stairs. There and then Ethan decided that Rachel was his nemesis. That has not stopped. Every time Ethan was grounded or was in trouble with his parent--it was due to Rachel snitching on him. Every fire he set to her stuff was just merely payback. They even started sending mean letters to each other in middle school. Rachel would end every letter with Forget You, Ethan.

Now that Ethan and Rachel are in college a few things have changed. Rachel's dad is married to her mom's best friend (yes, he mother has been dead since she was 16 but still, it's weird). Rachel is studying abroad on a Semester at Sea program. Ethan is finishing his degree at the same school (at the actual university). Rachel decided that she would spend her last year at the university--at the last minute her living arrangements fell through. She found a new place with two guys--one being Ethan.

Rachel would have turned it down but she needed a place to stay. She was NOT going to live with her father and his wife. Ethan and his man whoring ways would have to do. She can live with him and hate him. How much different can it be from when they lived next door to each other. Except now she knew that she would have issues seeing Ethan with other women. It didn't occur to her how important Ethan is to her until her last boyfriend was jealous of her letters to Ethan. Letters that take up and entire chest in her bedroom at home and a drawer in desk on the ship. She relishes those letters especially when she was on the ship. But this is Ethan--the ultimate man-whore.

Ethan knows how much Rachel loves the letter writing thing. At first he wrote them to show her how much he hated her. But then he was able to write things to her that no one else knew. She always has insight into his life--she knew his girlfriend was cheating on him. How? To be honest, he looks forward to those purple letters coming in the mail. None of his girlfriends understand why he can write pages to Rachel but can't jot down a sticky note to them. Hell, he doesn't understand it half the time either. He can't go more than a few weeks without replying to Rachel. Now, she's standing in his living room with his roommate--a roommate who wants to add Rachel as their third. When did Rachel turn into this stunning beauty? She used to have a unibrow and frizzy hair. Those curves are going to kill him. She's still as feisty as ever. Still addicted to those steamy romance novels--he adds to her addiction by sending some to her when she was on the boat.

Ethan must decide what he wants out of life--a career in writing or business? Does he want to keep Rachel in it? Rachel won't speak to him after he accepted a position in the MBA on the East coast. She went back to that damn ship.

Rachel has been carrying around a package her mother gave her right before her death with the instructions that she read it when she needs guidance. Almost ten years after her mother's death, she's finally reading it. What he mother tells her changes everything Rachel has thought about her family and Ethan. Is it too late to change things?

I have to admit something about this book....I love love love it. I have read it at least six times since this summer. It is hilarious. Not a typical rom-com type of hilarious because well ...there's a lot of sex scenes--too many for it to be a rom-com. But I laughed at the ways that Lara was being spiteful. And how he was always one step ahead of her. They keep each other on their toes. A complete perfect match! I love books like this! I am sad every time I finish the book. I have book depression. I don't do this for many books.

Ok, I will stop ranting and tell ya about the actual book.

Tara Lauren is a Princeton grad with a MBA and JD, who wants to work in the glorious New York City. She didn't account for how flippin expensive it is to live there. After her 200th job application, and almost as many interviews...ok a handful of entry level interviews, Lara is still looking for that first post college career job. In the mean time, she slips into Parker Hotels for their free breakfast and sometimes she borrows a room for the night. Desperate times call for desperate measures. A girl's gotta eat.

Preston Parker is a cutthroat CEO of the prestigious Parker Hotels, a series of hotels that make the Waldolf look cheap. The premier five star hotel chain--#1 in the business. He has two major issues--1) someone is stealing from him, 2) he has to hire a new executive assistant asap since he keeps going through them faster than rushing water. First things first.

Preston Parker does something out of the ordinary for him; instead of firing someone for the theft, he hires them. The first week Lara is there, she wants to quit. But the salary is too good. There's an office pool for when Lara will quit. Nothing ever goes according to plan. Preston is extremely particular about how the office runs. He comes in early and so should his right hand person. Lara's life is turned completely upside down with this job.

But she's had enough. No more. She has spent the last two years answering every text, email, and request from Mr. Preston Parker. No more. She missed moments in her friends and families' lives. Her boyfriend broke up with her. And he even sabotaged her Tinder hook up when she shut her phone off for the date. Done. She had to resort to using BOB while Preston was giving her a run down of what he needed for the next day or to criticize her shortcomings. She imagined Preston the entire time.

Preston won't let her quit. It's in her contract that she can't quit. Never trust white space and the fine print. Idiot. She tries to get fired. She picks up McDonald's coffee instead of his favorite coffee bistro. She comes in late--in yoga pants. She shuts her phone off. She does everything she can but not do her job. She should. But she can't it's not in her. It would break her to completely shuck her responsibilities. Preston knows it. He has also been making comments to get under her skin and skirt.

Something changes. Preston needs her help with a personal matter. If she helps him, she can quit in 6 weeks after finding her replacement. The last six weeks is almost heaven. If her job was like this with Preston benefits she wouldn't want to leave. A part of her doesn't. But if she wants to run her own company some day she needs to do this.

In many ways this reminds me of the movie Two Weeks Notice with Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant except Preston isn't an idiot. I never really like Grant's character in that movie because he was completely and utter dependent upon Bullock's character. The movie didn't show what he was like before they met. The character seemed a bit flat until he met her. But Bullock's character does have similarities to Lara...they both want to kill their boss. Both hate their jobs and how their job consumes every aspect of their lives.

Both make me laugh.

Before and after the Hero and heroine meet scenes.
Multiple POV.

Warning at the note before the book from author that this ends on a cliffhanger so respect to the author for that.

It seemed short to me.

It's difficult to tell how good it will be just on this book.

Cliffhanger end.
