This is a review I lost when I brushed something off my iPad, argh! I really enjoy these potentially world ending stories, when they are smart and not silly, but this rewrite won't capture all of my first glow which involved discovering that the book was set in the region where I live, and I could relate to some of the landmarks, though I wondered about some of the travel times as I recall. My original rating of four stars still stands which means I found it a better than average representation of the genre, and I read a lot of it! I will note though that at time, it did seem to rub some folks the wrong way that were particularly stressed by losses from Covid.… (altro)

The Unvaccinated is an okay book. It has a sort of nonending like there might be plans for a series. There wasn't really an overall story arc. The characters all get along too well, so there isn't much tension. I didn't really see any growth in the characters because we don't really see them until after the pandemic.

I thought it might be getting political and honestly, I’ve had enough of that crap. I kept going though because I found the premise intriguing. I’m really glad I continued. Some of the characters had political reasons for not being vaccinated and some of them were religious and every other reason imaginable. A group of these survivors came together to take care of the orphaned children, too young to have been vaccinated. It was a fascinating idea and the author did a great job of writing a diverse group of characters. The way it ended leaves room for a sequel which I plan to read.… (altro)

This story had me hooked from the beginning. The story had a good flow and the characters pretty relatable. It was a great read and eerily similar to what may or could happen. Would definitely look forward to a sequel to this story.
