I read the original edition. This is an interesting book. It is a memoir/autobiography of the life of the wife of a trapper/hunter in Labrador in the first part of the 20th century. She works incredibly hard & constantly & raises her babies & keeps them warm & not eaten by flies & etc. The most detail is of a few years in North Labrador in a very isolated setting.
