The book is a little dated - no surprise, considering that it was published over ten years ago - but still a good resource. If you don't know a ton about the American Civil War and yet you're interested in touring some of the battlefields and sites, this gives you a fairly good overview. There isn't a ton of information about the battlefields themselves, but you can find that stuff out by going to the visitor's center at each site. The real information is about other local sites that you might have skipped over during your visit - Oatlands near Manassas, for example. Before you plan any trips using this information, however, I would consult the internet to make sure of hours, prices, and if the places are still even open.… (altro)
