This is a super simple book about welcoming a sibling. Mx loved this when he was about 18mnths-28 months and would request it over and over. Around 28 months he lost interest and looked more to a little bit more advanced books. We did not have this book to read to Ms when we were expecting Mk

This story is about a young boy who is awaiting the arrival of his younger sibling who is currently in his mom's stomach. This little boy has a lot of questions for his mom about his soon to be younger sibling. He will ask his mom questions such as "will the baby have hair?" "what will the baby eat?" These questions tend to be very typical for little kids to want to know about their soon to be younger sibling. Reading this book reminded me of how I was when my mom was pregnant and gave birth to my youngest sister. I was five at the time, so I was asking a lot of questions about my sister, and I was even the one who notice that my mom's stomach was getting bigger and that she may be pregnant. I even remember my parent bringing her home from the hospital and the gift they gave me for it. Therefore, as I was reading this story It reminded me a lot of myself when my mom was pregnant.

This is a story told by a soon to be older brother. The soon to be big brother walks us through all of the questions he has about the new baby. He asks things like “will he have hair? What does it eat?” The little boy is excited and curious for the new arrival to the family. This cute story is perfect for toddlers anticipating a new baby coming into the family.

This book focuses on what it is like to have a new baby in the house. It discusses what they look like, smell like, what they do, and what they can't do yet. It also addresses the new relationship that develops between siblings.

This book is about a boy becoming a brother and having a baby in the house. I think it could be read in group or one on one.

This book is great for a family expecting an addition to their family. Simple sentences, pictures of what happens while mom is pregnant and then eventually gives birth. Shows baby and parents preparing for the arrival of a baby. Multi-racial family is depicted.

Little Kid Reaction: My 4-year old loved this book. This surprised me, since we are not expecting a baby, so he could not directly relate to the process. My preschooler loved flipping through the pages on his own without the words or any familiar context.

Big Kid Reaction: Having been through the process of bringing in a new baby several times, I thought this book was appropriate for soothing the anxiety of an established toddler. The illustrations are colorful and attractive. The themes express love and togetherness and "big brother/sister-ness" on the part of the toddler.

Pros: Wonderful, loving feelings exude from the pages.

I thought the book was fun but I really didn't like the text. It was awkward and did not stimulate conversation. It asked questions that the little boy would be asking his mommy, but that had no way of being answered from the pictures: "Will is be a boy or a girl?" "Will it have my hair?" So, I just ignored the text and opened the discussion with my child. I was surprised that my son, with no relevant activities between his life and the book's subject, enjoyed the book as much as he did. However, I loved sitting and reading it with him, so there's not much to complain about, I guess!

Who hasn't experienced a child asking, "Look at me!" especially when a new baby arrives. This addition to the "New Baby" series helps an older child adjust to the excitement and differences when a new baby arrives. New babies wake you up too early, go potty in a diaper and not the toilet, can't play with big toys, and can't feed themself. But the older sibling can and certainly wants the parents to notice. Illustrations take up nearly the entire page with one line of text at the bottom. They have the quality of a combination of marker, crayon and collage in a simple style sure to elicite conversations about what your child can do that the new baby in your home cannot. Highly recommended for ages 2-4.
