A cool peak behind the curtain at Magic’s young guns blazing a new trail for magicians. As a bonus we get to see the secrets behind some of the tricks and the process of what goes into creating an original one! A fascinating read for anyone with the smallest amount of interest in magic or who still has that childlike sense of wonder about the world.

Frisch clearly loves his subject and the people he writes about, which almost always makes for a great book. The only thing keeping this from a higher review for me is that it's a tad disorganized sometimes, jumping from topic to topic or throughout history. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it's clearly a cathartic exercise for the author, rather than something deliberately done to make the book better.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Definitely re-kindled my own love for magic and gave me plenty of new things to look up and people to follow and learn from.
Overall, an entertaining book, and one worth reading if you're at all interested in magic.… (altro)
