Jason E. Fort

This is the second installment in Jason' Fort's John Knox trilogy. The Jesus Assassin was first. That story was interesting even if I didn't much like the writing. This book takes up where the last one left off, though most of the action in this one takes place in prison where a mysterious assassin is knocking off Russian mafia and framing the Black Christian 'gang' in the prison. Malik Sharrif's father is the leader of the group getting framed and the asssasin is the same one who killed Knox's former partner in the first book. There is a huge government conspiracy in the background.

So what can I say about this book? The writing needs work. The religious elements were more tell than show (a problem with much Christian fiction). But I was invested enough in the characters to keep reading. I may read the next one but it isn't free and I'm not rushing to get it.… (altro)
