I loved this....what a special, sweet love story with lots of supporting characters. I loved them all! It had tragedy, love, excitement, bad guys, good guys, etc.... I kept thinking about all of them when I couldn't read and worked hard to get back to it. This was very well written/edited! I will be looking for more by L. A. Fiore. Well done....

I'd like to start out by saying the plot and basic story outline attracted me too this book. Bad boy meets shy girl, boy loves girl, girl loves boy exc. Who doesn't love a bad boy? But half way through the book I found myself feeling a bit disappointed and surprisingly unable to finish the book. I hate how in the synopsis It led me to believe that the guy would do the chasing when really, it was the female. Now don't get me wrong, girls chasing guys isn't the issue, it's that i feel a bit mislead. I tried, I really did try to finish it believe me...but tell me.

How are you supposed to read a book when you absolutely and utterly HATE the main character??

I don't dislike the main character. I don't tolerate her. The only thing I like about her is...well now that I really think about it...

NOTHING

Now as for the list of things I hate, that's easy.

The main character has NO PRIDE. Hey, i get it, you love him, but i can't even count on my hand the number of times i threw down this book because the main character made me mad. Boiling mad i tell you. Her decisions during the end of the first part left me wanting for more for this character.

During the whole half of the book i read, everyone was saying that the character is shy and lacking and boy they really did have her pegged, then. But towards the end of the first part the side characters were saying how much shes changing when i honestly don't see it. Nothing changed and she kept chasing him even after everything. I wish the character had taken more action instead of sitting around for weeks. If you want change you have to make it happen, and she just wasn't.

All in all everything felt rushed, not descriptive, and lacking. I felt like things were happening to fast and didn't have enough time to build, therefore effecting my connection with the characters. Which as I've ranted about, was none.

Didn't finish this book and at this point i don't plan too. It's just too disappointing.

I loved the beginning and I had high hopes for the book. But the ending was ridiculous and made me heavily skim it just so I could get to the resolution. I really liked Saffron and Logan but by the end I just wanted to be done with the book. Side note, if her parents really didn't want a child why did they go to the effort of naming her "Saffron" wouldn't they have chosen something less noteworthy that took little effort to pick.

So this Blew me away: it was so breathtaking and also so completely different to what I was originally expecting.

A really hard one to describe and categorise but I will most certainly try my very best.
So: When I started this I was a tad confused: there is almost a purposeful layer of mystique layered here to tantalise and obscure: serving to also bait that hook with such delicious allure.
But no matter my perplexity here there is no way on this planet I could have put this down as each baffling bone thrown only served to further titillate my senses.
Drawing me in and weaving such an intricate web of fascination.
It was almost like the story here was unfolding and revealing itself a morsel at a time and we were as much in a state of bewilderment as the colourful cast of otherworldly individuals were.
And what a line-up of diverse characters we had here: if you can think of it them: they were probably
included here.
Vampires, shapeshifters, witches, gods, demons, ghosts the list goes on: you would think it wouldn't actually work but it does.
This was urban fantasy at its finest and I was agog with such wonder the entire time.
Cleverly written from multiple viewpoints: all eventually converging at one point in time
Fast paced with something for everyone: this had action, mystery, horror, love and let's not forget the sex (had that too)
This really was a smorgasbord for every eventuality and appetite.
I'm really looking forward to seeing where the Ivy Blackwood Chronicles journey will take us next.
I for one will have a first-class ticket for that exciting trip.

The gathering itself then manages to wrap-up proceedings ever so nicely while still leaving some loose threads dangling for further progression.
I was left here with a profound sense of anticipation for this author's next instalment.
My first experience with this author but most definitely not my last.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of The Gathering (Ivy Blackwood Chronicles, #1)
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Thank you NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

12 years Cole Campbell is constantly tortured and thrashed by his father.
7 years old Mia Donati is cherished and loved by her father and aunt.
One day Mia’s father will save Cole from his father and the lives of all of them will be changed forever.

This is my first book by L.A. Fiore and I enjoyed every bit of it, I actually fell in love with the book. I liked that Mia didn’t want to give up on Cole no matter what he did or told her. I was impressed that Cole had strength to keep himself away from Mia and not drag her into his darkness.
This book is not an easy reading, it is heartbreaking, intense and it will make you suffer along with the characters. It touches upon very serious problems and L.A. Fiore handled them well.
This was a really great reading with the most unexpected ending ever.
I strongly advise you to get yourself a copy of this book – you won’t be disappointed! But don’t forget about handkerchiefs – some scenes will make you cry.

Great book, with tons of actions, tons of romance. This book was a page turner, and I loved every second of it. The story was very detailed, you can tell the author researched her topic. Very well told, and the band of misfits are very real. Told in dual pov.

This book broke my heart put it together and then broke it again into a billion pieces before putting it together again. What an amazing love story of trust and sacrifice. Our Unscripted Story is not only a love story between Alexis and Grayson but a love story about unconventional families.

This love story was not like any other I have read. From the beginning sacrifices for love were the main theme. From Sade, to Finn, to Grayson, to Alexis and so on. They all sacrificed so much because they loved so strongly.

One of the things I truly loved about this story is the sweet, slow burn love between Alexis and Grayson. I loved that although at a young age they were in love, they followed their dreams. They worked hard for their goals and made them a reality and eventually found their way to one another. Another thing I loved is that they both found their escape through the arts. The power of art is truly amazing and it allows for creativity and uniqueness.

I am truly still trying to formulate full thoughts as I literally just finished reading this book. All in all, to sum it up - this is one of the sweetest, heart breaking, slow burn love stories I have ever read. An emotional roller coaster from beginning to the end.

I loved this book so hard! From the moment I started reading I was instantly
consumed by the storyline.
Ember is a woman with demons... Her mother was killed in a car crash and she believes there is more to the story. Trace also has demons in his past... Together they embark on a suspenseful journey of love and uncovering secrets.

The mystery behind this book is what drew me in. I instantly began making my own predictions on what would happen in the end. The suspense leading up to the ending and what really happens though, blew me away.

The romance between Ember and Trace is beautiful. My heart hurt for Trace. The things he has been through are things you don't wish on anyone. He is damaged goods or so that's what he thinks. He believes that sex is all he is good for so when his heart fills with Ember, he shuts down and goes into push away mode. He is a fighter... The more he feels for Ember, the farther he tries to pull away. It is her that keeps putting herself in his life, showing him that he deserves to be loved and cared for. It's not an easy battle for them, but somehow love finds it's way into their hearts.

I would definitely recommend this book to all mature readers. It has a little bit for everyone. Romance, Suspense, Mystery, Family Drama, & Sexy Time

His Light in the Dark is the story of Mia and Cole. It's a story that spans decades starting with their childhoods growing up next door to each other. Mia has a loving father, Cole is brutally abused by his father. One day Mia's father, Mace, intervenes and Cole has the chance to experience what supportive family life can be like, if only for a while. I don't want to rehash the entire story and spoil it, but to summarize there's a lot of drama, angst and heart break, including police investigations, betrayals, corruption, deaths and all along the slowly simmering romance between Mia and Cole.
I loved L.A. Fiore's Beautifully Damaged books, so I can't help but compare them with this latest release, and unfortunately, His Light in The Dark did not fully meet my expectations.
The story was simply too drawn out. I actually got bored just under halfway through. It had a fantastic premise to make a thrilling book, but it was just too slow for me. That's where it lost one star. And then the ending! So we all love a HEA, but this went over the top big time. It needs to have a speck of realism at least, even if this is fiction. That's why it lost another star.
Nevertheless, I will continue reading books by this author because her other books had me truly gripped, but this just wasn't for me.
I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Heart wrenching, heartwarming, and totally unexpected. Teagan and Kane both have rough young lives but separately they end up at Raven House. Together they grow, experience, and mature. Best of friends as kids turns into much more. Their love is soul deep and nothing can get between them until....

I really enjoyed this book. The writing and characters are great. The only thing I didn't care for was the pace of the book. I thought it was a bit drawn out. There were parts of the book you could skip and never miss anything from the overall story. The story, however, makes up for this and it's a book I would recommend.

I went back and forth on really liking this book, I really liked it at first, then in the middle my interest waned, but I really loved the ending of this book!

One of my biggest peeves with romances is how the authors always have the damn characters falling in love hours after meeting, moving in together after days, and married within the month! (ok, SLIGHT exaggeration!) This book was one of the rare exceptions to that rule! She had a very, very reasonable time-frame. It was believable and comfortable. However, one issue that created was that much of the book read like a summary, and that was jarring and unpleasant. So, there needs to be another way of time lapse without summation... is it possible?

The writing was very good, the humor was good, the characters were likable (or not likable, when called for). However, even though I really liked the plot and writing, I didn't like how main characters fell into the cracks and were only called on to make a scene. And some people were never really touched on again! That being said, I really liked this book, and would like to read more of her stuff!

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the main story line. However, there was too much going on. It needed culling for sure. Too many characters, too much lack of focus. It was like 4 books stuffed into one. If there had been a greater focus on just Ember and Trace it would have been much, much better. The whole Dane thing didn't need to happen. I know the author was trying to build the whole mystery thing with some of the other characters (aunt/uncle especially) but it got to be too much.

Having said that, I did like the redemption of fucked-up Trace. Ember supported him and convinced him he wasn't as broken as he thought he was without completely losing herself. There were some conflicting character traits that I never quite bought in both of them, but overall they built a good love story. I also loved Ember's family, they were exactly what Trace needed.

Bottom line, it's a nice HEA with a fairly good mystery. The redemption of a tortured Trace is lovely and the relationship they build seemed real.

Fabulous Book!
Lots of Hot Sex scenes. A Love that isn't easy nor was I even sure it was going to make it- at one point in the book I thought man there is no way it's going to work out. The Mystery is wow and there when you think you might have it figured out nope something else turns up and leaves you scratching your head. I really didn't see it coming when the mystery was all figured out- Nice really nice surprise. You Really Need to read this one!
Great ending.

"I stood there watching her and realized that my best friend was
turning into a b***h."

"It isn't everyday a wish comes true and you, Ember,
are the answer to my wish."

"He was like a Jedi master in tickling."

"I was like a junkie and Trace was my drug. I had no will power when it came to him. He was my like size cake-pop......"

' "I'll dream of you...." I look up at him and smiled before I added, "....and cake-pops." '

I read this book because I expected it to be like Beautiful Disaster (crazy over it lol) And it was, just not as good as BD. It got a fighter, a not so weak girl and a little bit of suspense, and the similarities ended there. This book was fun to read for the first half but then it got boring because the author decided to add some annoying secrets to both Ember and Trace’s life. [SPOILER STARTS] His dad sexually abused Trace during his childhood, and his mom was an idiot who did nothing about it. Trace’s parents were murdered when he was young, his sister was retarded (mental breakdown. Ember’s mom was killed in a hit and run accident, and the killer was Trace’s father. [SPOILER ENDS] I hate where the story went after the first half. I was born hating secrets, so I guess that was why this book annoyed me so much. I tried loving the characters, but failed. Ember is just a plain normal girl. She tried to make their relationship work although Trace was a freaking jerk. And Trace was annoying as f*ck! He kept pushing Ember away and expected her to forgive him every time he apologized. Can you see where I am coming from? No? okay, easy to say, he hurt her, she ran away, he apologized, she came back (repeat as many time as you want). So as a conclusion, I hate this book because it annoyed me a lot.
