America Border Culture Dreamer presents Wendy and the students’ poignant and powerful images and definitions along with their personal stories of change, hardship, and hope. Created in a collaboration with Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture, this book casts a new light on the crucial, under-heard voices of teenage immigrants themselves, making a vital contribution to the timely national conversation about immigration in America.

A remarkable book of photographs accompanied by moving and often disturbing testimonies by the children about their lives within the caste system, their families, fears, futures, and dreams.

Read for LTP at TTP, fall 05. Pairs well with the documentary "Born into Brothels."

Has some good photography-based activities that can be used with youth.

Interesting read. Student depictions of their body parts in their own words and handwriting. My students were not too interested in the content of the book; they were more so interested in the fact that students wrote it. I don't know if I'd revisit this one again.

Used in our 4th grade classroom on the first day of class to do a writing sample and we hung the pictures of them outside of the classroom along with their poems. They gave the book 3 stars.
