A small-town, second chance HEA. Christa and Carter were friends in high school with both wanting more but never telling each other that. Now they both find themselves back in Higgins and Carter is ready to take another chance on what he missed out on in high school. Christa is focused on taking care of her parents, and their business, and paying back her student loans. Circumstances throw the two of them together but can they make it work this time around?

Mad Dash is the first book in a series by Sage Evans. My sincere thanks to the author and Library Thing Early Reviewers for giving me the opportunity to read the book and give my unbiased opinion of it in the following short review. I liked the overall premise of this story. Carter went to jail for something he didn't do in order to protect his brother and loses his chance at a life with Christa - or so he thought. Christa has wanted Carter for as long as she can remember. There is rodeo dust, trick riding, hard luck and a second chance at love. All the ingredients for a western romance. While I liked the idea of the book, I would have loved a little more in the way of character development. I had a hard time feeling any connection to these characters. I felt like I needed to know more. A deeper dive into some of the relationships than I was given. There were sections I really loved and then pages that left me wanting more. Overall, it was a good start to the series and I may just need to give the next book a chance to reel me in. 3 stars… (altro)

This is a slow, slow burn small town romance. You will find dysfunctional families everywhere you look, and two main characters who rise above it in spite of their upbringing/history. The storyline was mostly lighthearted, with a few deep, emotional sections. I look forward to continuing the series!

To be honest there's nothing unique about this book. I would place this as a time killer book. There's nothing bad about it and I'll most likely read the next book in the series I just wished there was something that hooked me
