Among the Plains Indians is a gorgeous book of illustrations - paintings by George Catlin and Karl Bodmer - with a story created to tie them together, of mid-19th century explorers who visit different American plains Indian tribes, observing their lives. While the "story" is somewhat awkward, it fulfills its purpose: we learn something about the plains' tribes. The book is 107 pages. On the right page is an illustration; on the left is a paragraph or two. It's a beautifully done book. Even the paper is very good. The reproductions are excellent. .
