A pair of silent movie stars make the transition to talkies.

My wife and I had been dreading watching this movie. Turns out it's one of the best movies from the 1950s that we've seen. They don't take it for granted that singing and dancing is entertaining in itself. It's funny, and the dancing is delightful and impressive, incorporating a lot of Vaudeville-style gags. All that's missing is the Muppets. I guess I should give Hollywood musicals a chance, and stop judging them based on stage musicals and bad Disney movies.

Tout a été déjà dit sur ce monument considéré comme l'un des films les plus marquants du 20ème siècle.
Il faut juste dire que rien ne manque pour faire de "Singin' in the Rain" un grand film : un très bon scénario portant sur l'avènement du cinéma parlant, des artistes extraordinaires (Gene Kelly et Donald O'Connor au meilleur de leur forme!), une mise en scène des plus pétillantes, une véritable joie de vivre (celle que l'on peut ressentir ou avoir envie de donner au public en 1952, au sortir de la guerre).
Gene Kelly, chantant et dansant sous la pluie, ivre de bonheur d'aimer et d'être aimé, reste un grand et beau moment de cinéma.… (altro)
