Well written, contains some facts of historical significance from the period of the early 19th century traders and indian inhabitants of the northern great plains. A personal love and war story that illuminates cultural differences. The reader, looking back, just wants to say "nooooo....don't do that." The book ended bit abruptly and I think that's characteristic of some authors who want you to read the next in the series. But, wait! He's only written a couple of books.
