I'm agreeing with others that despite this being the first in the series it makes a heap more sense for it to come after Stacy's Destiny. Fortunately I happened across the latter first so I did read them in that order. Anna has an excessively overdeveloped sense of familial responsibility, to the point of stupidity in point of fact. Still, it does set up a suitable tension to propel a story.

I did enjoy this book but the 'Vinny and Jake storyline' felt a bit disconnected. We see them getting ready to leave New York in Chapter 8 and then they're next seen in Chapter 15. I'm wondering if maybe someone setting sight of them in Pearl / over-hearing something could have just kept that particular strand active.

However Charlie, Ben and Wyatt were the perfect combination of commanding and protective. That aspect really worked for me.

I decided to start reading In Good Hands because I was really missing Dixie’s writing. Dixie isn’t always consistent in her writing but she knows how to put the story together. I would really love to interview her someday because I have a question or two that are just burning a hole in my brain.

I really like Cherokee and her men should have made her a member of the Sons Of Justice, she has some mad skills. I thought it was really cool that she injured her attacker with his own weapon, how cool is that? All the characters were so life like in how they talked and reacted for the most part and I really enjoyed the story line even though is seemed the pace was set on slow motion.

What really didn’t like the most was the bad guys name, Stanston, it just makes you hate him before you know he is the ass hat determined to ruin the world. I also had a little problem determining the time line because of the flow of In Good Hands there were a couple of spots where I didn’t realize time had passed until I was a few paragraphs in but that was a small issue and didn’t interfere with the telling of the story. Honestly it was hard finding anything I didn’t like other than the bad guy and I think I will probably read this book again someday.

I finally finished Stacy’s Destiny for the third time and I really don’t have much to add but I do have one issue that I over looked in the past and that was the edits but they were not that bad so it wont take much away from the rating.

Original part of this review.
It took me longer to read this book on the second time around, I think that was because I am reading another book at the same time and I really just wanted to savor the read this time. You know how i is, when you get into a book and you don't want put the book down or might miss something (it's almost like watching a new episode of your favorite TV show). I will most likely read this one again, I really like stories where the woman won't give up without a fight, rather than just sitting there waiting to be rescued. And Stacy sure can put up a fight :)

Stacy is physically abused, almost sexually assaulted and stalked by her crazy ass boss so her friend tricks her into going to Texas to get her out of line of fire (smart friend). In Texas she falls in love with twin brother.

In this day where sexual harassment happens daily I think it is great that a writer can put a face on it without making the woman look totally weak and defenseless. I really did like hour Stacy broke her boss' nose, to bad she could get a nut shot in as well.

As long as there is punishment in it, I am on the fence for a 2 or 3. Notification of spanking should be mandatory.

Too much focus on spanking and punishment rather than pleasure. Ruined the story and sex for me. As I have mentioned before, warnings on submission, spanking and such would make this stuff way better. If BDSM heavy or light is the only way you think to be erotic, you are doing it wrong...

Lexi has been on her own for as long as she can remember and on the run for the last few years. Leaving her best friend behind without a ‘good bye’ was the hardest thing she had ever done but in order to protect Sierra it was necessary.

My second time through Were She Belongs wasn’t nearly as exciting as my first time through it, even so, I was no were near disappointed in the story as a whole. There were a few things that drove me nut and I will get to those shortly. First I want to talk about what I really liked about this story. I really like the story line and how you also got to touch base with the bad guys from time to time to see the plotting. I really liked the characters, especially Sierra and Lexi and I can just imagine how much they will stir the pot with their mates. I think my favorite part is how Lexi finds out she has family and their reactions when they find out.

Lexi’s character had some interesting contradictions given how she was raised. She grew up a street kid and for all intents and purposes she was street smart and trusted no one, and for valid reasons. It is for those reasons a lone I expected her to fight harder against her mates and really thought she would at least try to run but she didn’t. This is where we get into what I don’t like about this story, the lack of consistency and continuity in places crated some comprehension issue at times especially when the time line seemed out of whack and characters were out of place. For example, when Feldman called Valco Lexi’s mate when he isn’t, he is Sierra’s mate. This one drives me absolutely crazy how can Andre’s ball be slapping Lexi’s ass when she is bent over the arm of the couch (on her stomach), seems to me his ball would be hitting somewhere in the vicinity of her clit.

The inconsistencies were the biggest editing issue in the book when the tally was completed on the number of edits I found but thankfully the edits only added up to enough to cost the author to lose only one star from the rating I intend to give this story. But as I sit here and ponder what my decision on this should be I am torn because I have read this book more than once and should for that very reason give this book a four-star rating because the edits omit a five-star rating but I am also considering a three-star rating because I am almost feeling like I should give it a four-star rating minus the star for the edits. Which brings me around to thinking maybe I should change my rating criteria by creating a separate rating system for the editing that is separate from my love it or hate it ratings.

Again I like the story. I'd rate it higher if the editing mistakes were less.

I really like this series. However I can't get past all the mistakes the author makes with names. That person is not even in the room and she names him instead of the one in the room, etc. The author needs to edit better or hire a better editor. And the covers SUCK! They are some of the worst covers ever.

This started out similar to Sage's Story in that the story began in Pearl with a woman already living there. It seemed that we got more background this time on the men so I was able to understand them better and connect more with all the characters and not just Diane. I have to wonder if we will ever know Diane's sisters story, that could be interesting too even if it does mean going back in time a bit.

The bedroom scenes were smokin hot...

I half expected book 5 of The Town Of Pearl series to start out just like the past books, boy, was I surprised that it did not. Instead it actually started out in Pearl and only got as far a Dallas and Corpus Cristi. Dixie also took the time to age the characters four or five years and add some children to her characters from previous books. And Sage was first introduced in book 3 as a sixteen/seventeen year old escapee of an orphanage in Detroit and she is now twenty-two. Another difference is that Sage isn't running from anything but she is very bottled up, poor thing. Maintaining the flow of the world that is the Town of Pearl through such a long series must take a lot of work as you write and I commend Dixie for her consistency and attention to detail which makes this series so readable.

Also, like the rest of the series addresses a serious issue that women, children and sometimes men face. In this book the issue...

When Millie's violent ex-boyfriend gets out of prison early, thanks to his seduction of his therapist and her current boyfriend dumps because he is a first class jerk she does the only thing she can do. She runs to Pearl and her friends, Anna and Stacy, but trouble isn't far behind and never minding the five Lewis brothers who are determined to make her theirs.

There are a lot of things that I like about Dixie Lynn Dwyer's books and two of those are the strong females characters that even though they may be feeling week at the moment, they manage to keep fighting back. The second thing I like is that she can seriously create one hell of a bad guy, the sadistic nature of Frank was off the chart, and you could almost feel the evil coming out of the book when his scenes came up.

Arebella went on the run with her family three years ago and now she is running on steam, working odd jobs trying to earn money to make it to the next town. When she hears about Second Chances she checks it out hoping that might be the next resting place because her family needs help but the town is full of ex-military and police and past experience says that is a bad thing.

Reno, Rex, Brock and Smith are adjusting to civilian life and are ready to settle down with that special someone and they think they have finally found her. When they discover she is terrified of men and in law enforcement and ex-military they set out to prove they are not like the men she has dealt with in the past.

I am rather disappointed in Dixie, her editing is usually so much better...

Hot Hot Hot! It was a touch annoying that this was a bit out of sequence with the previous book. The reading order should be reversed.

Stacy is another great character. The story is very interesting and I am enjoying the series.

Lots of story in the beginning and then when the steam happens look out!! Super sexy!!

4.5 stars
What a great start to a series! This story is long, action packed, and steamy. It pretty much has it all…mystery, romance, action, and great sex. I didn’t want to put it down, but sleep did call. I thoroughly enjoyed that everyone involved in the story was aware of shifters. It was refreshing not to have to go through the reveal and the heroine’s conflict over it. Instead the author focused on the characters and plot, and boy was there a plot. There was more than one theme throughout the book, but it was written so well they were tied together nicely and I never got confused. The twist at the end was something I definitely didn’t see coming.

Samantha has a lot to deal with in a short amount of time. Feeling guilty over a lost love she resists her attraction to the 5 brothers of swat team one. They live in the same neighborhood and seem to always be there when Sam needs them. Samantha lost her mother when she was young and her father comes across as lacking and neglectful. I got to see Samantha grow into herself, after she is finally told the truth of who and what she is, and accept the love of her mates. The inner strength she has was amazing.

The brothers, Dustin, Trey, Adam, Donny, and Kyle are all Alpha males and show it. They waited about a year before claiming Sam so they didn’t overwhelm her. They are dominating yet tender, loving and caring about and with Samantha. It would have been easy for the brothers to come across as a single entity, but Dixie made sure the book was long enough and detailed enough for each of their personalities to come through and I loved each one of them.

The sex was handled well. It wasn’t just a continuous ménage/free for all. There was time for each brother to have his time with Samantha. It was sweet and loving. It was hard and fast. It was always hot. I wondered how it would be handled with 5 men, but it was done better than I’ve read with some of the m/f/m I’ve read. This is a must read if you’re a fan of PNRe and ménage.

Down and dirty hot and spicy. If you love multiple partners and have a fetish for menage, then you will love this sexually charged book that has a pretty good story to back up all the action.
