The poker advice is (or was, depending on who you believe) sound, but the writing drives a sane being bananas. Copy editor did not exist, or ought to be shot in the head.

Previously "According to Doyle". Poker philosophy, I suppose. Entertaining anecdotes intended to enforce useful poker truths.
As others have written, most of what Doyle has to say has been said in Super System. The real gems are the contributions from other top pros. Have found Harmon's chapter on limit hold'em particularly helpful, but only because I haven't played the other cash games yet.
