Nellie's New Attitude is a cute historical novella about a spoiled city girl who was jilted at the altar. She runs off and ends up being rescued by a man who lives up the mountain and has always had a crush on her.

This was a nice story. Nellie learns a lot about herself and what is truly important. I recommend this clean romance to anyone.

My thanks to Lynn Donovan for the opportunity to read this book and offer my unbiased opinion.

Jocelyn seeks help from the Pinkerton Agency in order to solve the mystery of who murdered her geologist father and research team as well as to expose a scam around a fake diamond deposit. Like the other books in the Pinkerton Matchmaker series, Jocelyn is required to marry a Pinkerton agent in order to partner with him and work to solve their case. She is partnered with a former swindler named Owen. Because of his past, he is a logical one for the case even though Jocelyn is not inclined to trust him much in the beginning. They end up making a good team.

I have read a few of these Pinkerton books now and am more inclined to call them novellas. This one as well as the others I have read are solid stories with interesting characters. My personal opinion is that I wish the story would have been longer. I would have loved to see more development of the characters and their romance, more details from their past, more conversation, more detail to the mystery. I think it would have been interesting to have started the story with Jocelyn being with her father and the geological team and experiencing more of what happened to them and her. The characters and the idea behind the story were unique and interesting and deserved more in my opinion. That being said, I still thought what was written was good. Someone who likes reading historical novellas will enjoy this addition to the Pinkerton Matchmaker series.

An Agent for Serafina is a continuation of a series of books. It was very similar to another book I read from the same series. This is a rather short book and the action moves right along with the story only taking place in a matter of days. We learn some about Serafina's background, but not a lot about Todd's. It may be possible that he is introduced in previous books in the series that I have not read. I would have liked this better if it had been longer and we would have been able to see more of the relationship growing between the two main characters. I saw more evidence of mutual admiration than of true love, but maybe that's just me. It was a nice straight forward story and I know a lot of people who would enjoy it.
My thanks to Lynn Donovan for the opportunity to read this book and offer my unbiased opinion.

Set in the 1870s, Marla is a newspaper woman trying to make it in a man's world. In an effort to be taken seriously, she decides to go undercover and become a Pinkerton detective. Little does she know that in order to become a Pink, she will be required to enter into a marriage of convenience in order to be respectable traveling with and learning from her male trainer.

This was a straight forward historical novel. I enjoyed Marla's initiative. She was willing to what she needed in order to advance in her chosen career. I liked her interaction with Pryce Adams even though I would have liked to have seen a little more development of their romance. The murder mystery, was not so much a mystery, but rather more about how they get the accused to confess.

All in all, I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to friends that enjoy historical romance.

My thanks to Lynn Donovan for the opportunity to read this book and offer my unbiased opinion.
