This story could have been better if it was a novella and if Ms Dayne did not take the story in so many wild directions. A lot of editing mistakes that a good read through should have caught was also a turnoff.

I picked up this book mostly because I've been down to Key West several times. I am terribly sorry that I bothered. There was almost no feel if the island at all. Ms Dayne may as have just set the story in any hotel room on Earth. This book needed some serious proof reading.

I liked the premise of this story and yes I knew that there were hetero sex scenes. What I did not expect were the huge amount of typos and the poor editing that pervaded the story. I would highly doubt that the author even bothered with a second read. I did enjoy both Jax and Aleks. They were appealing much more as individuals than as a couple. The murders and the investigation seemed to get pushed to the background and the second half of the story was mainly concerned with vampire politics. I feel that the author played a bit too fast and loose with the cross over in plots. I almost gave up on the story but had too much invested and wanted to see the story resolved. The kicker was that it ended with a "to be continued" type ending. I will not be reading book two and suggest that fans of the genre pass up this story for a better put together book.

As one of the group who worked on editing and proofing these stories and helped put the anthologies together I might be considered biased, but these anthologies are definitely worthy of the 5 star rating.

I really enjoy short horror stories, so I was excited to received this book. It is a collection of 11 horror stories, all with an erotic edge to them. I was a little surprised, because I didn't realize that there would be such a strong, erotic component to them. Overall the stories were entertaining, and a couple were memorable. My favorites were "The Interview" by Cassandra Dayne and "Roach Semen and Other Omens of the Apocalypse" by Christian Jensen. These two stories stuck with me long after I finished them.

Out today, 15 May 2013, this is a great anthology of 7 stories about military men. Yes, one of them is mine (co-written with A.J. Llewellyn), so I won't be rating it.

Usually I do not like the M/M type story but this intrigued me. Kade like any other person is tired of sitting on the side lines wondering where his love life is going because his boss cant seem to figure it out and wont be open with him or anyone else about their relationship. No one was to see their relationship other than the one that a boss has with his employee. When Kade is ready to call it quits his boss, the ex pro football player turns the tables and changes his life and their relationship forever but will this be what Kade really wants and will their relationship survive it? Short read erotica!

The third time is the charm, right? Well, not really in this case. But out of the three books I have read by Cassandre Dayne, I liked this one the most (no strange 'sound sentences' like in the other two btw).

As you can read in the description this book deals with one dying partner and how to pick up the pieces. There are books out there like that, but they mostly start after said partner had died. This one starts before. I liked how we got to see how both men (tried) to deal with it.

I didn't like how confused I was while reading. Some serious editing has to be done, because there were a lot of mistakes like false names. Too much shivering and shuddering, fisting one's mouth (and not just done by one person... I don't know anybody who does that but here, everyone's doing it, it seems)... and the word disease was used too often. Just call it by its name.

Sadly I wasn't able to loose myself in the story at all. I didn't get a feel for any of the characters, I know that Hunter was supposed to be a tortured soul and Mac maybe, too? But again I didn't feel it. The relationships didn't do it for me either.

We get to read sex scenes between Hunter and Taylor (friends with benefits I think?), there is a threesome between Mac und his two friends, later on a few scenes between Hunter and Mac. That's most of the book. Now this isn't a bad thing, but I didn't really understand the relationships and the ones Hunter has with Taylor and Mac are nearly the same. At least I wouldn't be able to identify hunter's partner without a name attached.

The writing style was somewhat strange at times, the 'sound effects' for example. Usually you read them in context. Here they are their own sentence. When Hunter's being attacked it goes like this: "Slam! Whoosh! Pop!"

The mystery/thriller part containing the gay bashing crimes fell short. This was the thing I was most interested in in this story so I was disappointed.

I have read and reviewed another book going by the title Shattered by this author before, which I didn't like. But I gave Cassandre Dayne another chance.

So corporal domination wasn't as bad as I feared it would be. There is the overuse of the words hunk and chuckle/chuckling, but oh well.

I liked how you get to know the characters, even though it isn't a long book. Both men are inexperienced in the matters of bdsm and instead of jumping straight in, they get professional help. I liked that as well.

The way the training was shown I didn't like so much. I missed the scene discussion, but at least there was consent talk. It felt a little rushed, too. The training, I mean. I would have liked if there was more anticipation.
I thought there would be more of Alexander, but apparently this wasn't his story.

There is just this thing the author has done in Shattered, which just didn't do it for me and she has done it here as well. Even more. I want sounds to be described not sentences like "Crack! Pop!".

So this book was way better than the one I've read before, but the author's writing style isn't something I like to read. But tastes differ and that is a good thing.

OMG, this is actually SO bad, that if you can download it for free you have GOT to read it! I actually found at least one grammar/spelling/character switch error on every page! It became kind of a fun game. And the storyline? *shakes head* So over-the-top ridiculous that I stopped paying attention after about 10 pages.

Don't waste your time, unless you want a good laugh.

Unfortunately this one didn't work for me either. The editorial mistakes alone drove me crazy. The ending was rushed and misplaced and the whole thing just didn't work. I am now officially giving up on her.

I'm REALLY giving this a 3.5, but my 3.5 is closer to a 4 than a 3. It would've been a 4 but I needed to see more of Trenton and Razer together, alot of the book is setting up the meeting between Trenton and Razer, and in it you get to meet both of their best friends, Dyson and Blake (who are both story worthy also). I do have to admit I'm a newbie in the M/M world..so I'm not really qualified to do an educated review, only say what I felt. PLUS this is a novella so I do realize there cannot be alot of story in it. Male Order touches on the world of BDSM, but the BDSM did take a back seat to the beautiful story of two broken men, finding healing and love, with a little help from two unselfish best friends that loved them dearly. The sex is off the charts hot. I immediately fell in love with Razer and Trenton, and man would I love to be the third for Trenton and Razer =) I will definitely be checking out more of Cassandre Dayne's books~~There's a twist with Dyson and Blake that finishes the story out great. Maybe we will see more of them (hint, hint). All in all this is only the 3rd M/M I've read and I actually loved the style alot more than the first 2.
