Breve biografia
Jennifer Daggett gave birth to her first child three months early (weighing 980g/2lb 3oz) in January 2012 and is still trying to recover from it.

She managed to pump exclusively for her for sixteen months, through two lots of mastitis, one nipple infection and a permanent case of sad nipple syndrome, mostly due to a stubborn refusal to be beaten. She thinks any mother who pumps for more than a week should get a medal.

She lives with her husband and daughter (who is doing just fine) in North Yorkshire, England.

"How to Survive Pumping" this is a simple, quick read about pumping breast milk for your child/ren. As I read some of the tips, there are some areas that were left uninformed such as how long do you keep breast milk in the freezer, or how long do you defrost or methods to do such without worrying about building bacteria in your baby's milk if frozen in bags or bottles. I know as a day care worker, I had some mother's who brought breast milk in bags/bottles but would let me know how long they could have them in our small fridges. Yet this was ten or so years ago. There are other tips given but fell flat for me. On the other hand, other tips were creative such as putting the milk in ice cube trays.

I also wanted to know about comfort level since I heard all the horror stories about breast feeding and pumping in general, but as she stated briefly that it goes quicker and gets the supply by pumping instead of breast feeding the child. Overall, she gave some considerations and well-needed suggestions such as ladies with big breasts (heavy on top like myself), massage special bras to help soothe the mother to let the milk flow better, and hands-free pumps as well as bras.

Even better to hear from a mother that adds links of blogs and websites that could be helpful, and gives other resources and references for mothers who will be breastfeeding, pumping, or just want to be informed to avoid the pain!
