Charming! Sometimes, you just need one person to see you. Where other teachers see a problem child, a guidance counselor is able to see underneath Charisma's shield. The artwork fluctuates from beautiful to sketchy and unpolished. But I overall liked the book though it's very fast-paced.

I love the focus on restorative justice and empowerment of Black girls. It's a great book. It did feel somewhat instructional at times, but I think that's a strength in this context.
