Absolutely terrific. Splendidly written, classic British dry wit is evident in every single page. Of course, you'll probably only enjoy this if you've played cricket all your life. Otherwise much of the dialogue and minutia will go more over your head than a no-ball delivered by me past the age of fourteen. Every story reminded me of my own 20ish years playing recreational cricket; the maddening results, the scramble to get a good team together, the scramble to get ANY team together, the arguing over the rules, the instant transition from warmth to outright hostility of everybody involved. It's the greatest, stupidest sport I've played. A great Christmas present from my fellow cricket playing father. Thanks dad!… (altro)
