Illustrations: computer illustrator program. This book is about a turtle and hare who are friends and decide to race to the moon. The tortoise got straight into a rocket ship while the hare dilly-dallied all around the world because he thought for sure that he was going to win the race. In the end, the tortoise won the race because the hare didn't make it to the moon as fast as he thought he could. Summary:
The Hare always teases the Tortoise for being a slow poke. The Tortoise then challenges the Hare to a race to the moon. The Hare had a expensive, shiny, best of the best spaceship and the Tortoise had a rinky dink one that he built himself. The Hare assumes he is so much faster, so he takes trips all over the world and gets side tracked. In the mean time the Tortoise keeps on going, never gives up, and stays on track. The Tortoise ends up beating the Hare because he stayed on track.

Personal Reaction:
I really enjoyed this book because I think it has a lot of meaning put into a little kids perspective. It shows that no matter how good you have things that if you get on the wrong track or get side tracked you won't always succeed. It also brings out the positive of the Tortoise that no one thought would win and he did because he didn't give up and kept his focus on his main priority, winning!

Classroom Extensions:
1. I would let the kids build they're own spaceship to hang in the room.

2. I would use this book to explain to the kids that if they focus in school and stay on track that they will too succeed.
