Joost Conijn

The artist Joost Conijn built his own airplane and flew from the the Netherlands to the Kilimanjaro. Sometimes he flew with a flightplan and all the necessary other paperwork and permits, sometimes without any. The adventures are as much about flying as about surviving when the plane is on the ground and he is sometimes grounded by the authorities.
The story is almost told as if he is writing in his diary and pictures, tickets, documents etc., are 'pasted' inside. It reads like a story about a toy to be read by boys but it is also the story of an adventure that really happened.
