Douglas Collins (2) (1920–2001)

Collins tells an amazing story of his ten escapes from prison camps in Occupied Europe during WW II. He missed being killed a number of times as he fled guards and soldiers. Sometimes his hot temper almost got him killed when he could not stop himself from teasing or challenging his captors. He was captured at Dunkirk and rescued in Romania in 1944 making it a long time to be in captivity. While a true story, reads almost like fiction which makes it that more compeling.
