- Breve biografia
- Lady Georgina Coleridge was born Margaret Georgina Christine Hay in East Lothian, Scotland to an aristocratic family, a daughter of William George Montagu Hay, 11th Marquis of Tweeddale, and his wife Marguerite Christine Ralli Einstein. She began her journalistic career in 1936 as a freelancer for Harper's Bazaar before joining the circulation department of the National Magazine Company until the outbreak of World War II. In 1941, she married journalist Arthur Coleridge, with whom she had a daughter. Lady G, as she preferred to be called, served as editor of Homes & Gardens from 1947-1963 and director of Country Life from 1962-1974. She was director of special projects for IPC Women's Magazines from 1971 to 1974. In 1955, she co-founded the Women of the Year Lunch to honor the achievements of women in the arts, the professions, and science. She served as president of the Women's Press Club in 1965–1967. Keenly interested in horseracing, Lady G wrote a memoir called That's Racing: A Dream That Happened, published in 1978. Her first book was I Know What I Like (1959).
