Hmmm . . . it’s definitely an urban fiction story. That's for sure! And I realize there is a raw and dark tone to writing this style of literary work; however, it would've helped to alert its readers of the sensitive language (from the onset). In any case, for those readers who embrace that genre set, this may be an interesting read for you. For myself, it was a bit rough reading through this tale but I stuck to it. Kept reading hoping the makeup and presentation would show improvement. I was sure there was something good (if not great) behind the story. And it was! Certainly, there is a plot running among the pages. It just needs to be elevated a bit more (for visibility). Now, with improvement on the next go around, this would make for a much deeper storyline and a greater read. And once refined, there is a finished mixture of all the things a decent story is comprised of.
In its present condition, while thumbing through the pages, it lacked characterization and scene development, contained several grammatical errors, and the keen eyes of its proofreaders. Guess thou, I was looking for more of those “show me’s” rather than the many tell me’s. Much as I was rooting for this author to give us a promising read, (between the flaws) it didn't shine. And as we know, writing period is not an easy task. Therefore, I applaud this author for her effort in presenting this particular story.… (altro)
