- Violet Mary Beauclerk married John Talbot Clifton (1868-1928), whom she had met in Peru, in 1907. They lived at his family manor of Lytham Hall, entertaining lavishly. She won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize in 1933 for The Book of Talbot. She also wrote mystical poetry. In 1950, she became a nun under the name of Sister Mary Seraphim.
