Haunted Finger Lakes: A Ghost Hunter’s Guide (ISBN 0764333585) is a 159 page book by Dwayne Claud, a demonologist and paranormal investigator. The book is a well written, well researched work covering hauntings and paranormal activity as well as legends surrounding the Finger Lakes region. Dwayne does an excellent job of putting to words the experiences he has had along with the experiences of others. Some stories shared in the work have been experienced by members of Dwayne’s paranormal group WNYParanormal. Some of the best stories include “There’s a Ghost in the Trailer,” “The Red Gables Building,” and “The Legend of Princess Onnolee,” but there are many tales that will certainly appeal to the paranormal enthusiast. The book has a number of black and white photos that are someone difficult to see, but Dwayne does give website information where the reader can access full color versions of the photos that are offered.
Dwayne makes a number of good points in the book regarding paranormal investigations and how to begin to understand paranormal events. He talks about childhood fears, the use of basic paranormal investigative equipment, and he talks about the different beliefs pertaining to the paranormal from the view of the skeptic to the view of the believer. This book is a super fast read and can be read in one sitting or in several sessions if each chapter is read as a short story. All in all, this book is nicely done.… (altro)
