Jo. Case

This one's a slow burn for me. I found I wasn't relating to the characters or the sense of place for a while. Partly the three decades of age between me and the writer. But I was reading the book for a purpose. You see, I've enrolled in a Writers Victoria webinar on memoir writing, and Jo Case is my tutor/professor. I could hardly NOT read her book.

By about one-third of the way in, she had won me over. There is an evolving mystery around Asperger's Syndrome that ends up having some interesting twists. I felt the mother's frustration, and the son's challenges. These are balanced with many laugh-out-loud moments and at least one character we could all enjoy hating.… (altro)
