Received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I needed an easy read with no major drama, no high expectations, none of the nonsense I had been reading. Hush happily filled all of those criteria. I found it to be light, easy to read and entertaining and I love that the author is writing one book for each of her daughters.

This short children's message gets a message across to Billy in a fun way. When Billy does not clean up his room, his mother does not nag him, she tells him a story. What happens when the "Sock Monster" comes at night? Billy goes to bed, but can not sleep until he picks up the room. A cute, humorous story with wonderful illustrations. A great read aloud for toddlers and young children. A must for every family library.

This is a middle grade book, but it kept my interest and I really enjoyed it. Christopher is a 13 year old orphan who ends up in an orphanage where the orphans are taken advantage of and worked to the bone. He runs away and hopes to get a job on a ship. He overhears a couple of pirates talking about stealing a shipment of guns and when he gets caught, the pirates take him captive with the plan to sell him once they reach the Carribbean Islands. He is taken board a merchant ship where he is threatened and made to pretend he is mute. Christopher has very little self-esteem and does not think anyone will believe his story. The captain's daughter Lucy, figures out he can talk and has been hiding something. With the help of a mouseguide, Leo and a monkey, Sugar, he learns the five lessons and develops a lot of confidence. With lots of ups and downs, Christopher saves the day with the help of his friends, Lucy, Leo and Sugar. A fun read for middle school children and up.

Thanks to netgalley for a copy of this book to read and review.

I received a copy of this YA book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

It is the story of young man named Max who finds a picture and an address in his aunt’s desk which peaks his interest. His research takes him to a boarding school in Canada where he meets Blakely, a young lady he believes to be a princess that was secretly given up for adoption at birth. The story that follows is exactly as you would expect it to be - no surprises. Although the main characters are 17 and 18 years old, the story is written more at the level of a 11 or 12 year old.
