It's the last day of school, which means that summer vacation is just around the corner. Once that final bell rings, students will be leaping out of their seats, ready to embrace the sun, fun, and freedom of summer.

Well, everyone except for Gordon Schultz. He already knows that this will be the worst summer ever. His friend Danny will be going to baseball camp, and his other friend Steve will take a trip to Wisconsin, leaving him all by himself. Already starting out the summer with a bad attitude, Gordon just hopes for a little excitement, even though he is set on the idea that there won't be any.

After a whole Saturday morning and afternoon wallowing in his loneliness, Gordon decides to go to a local sub shop. All he wanted was a sandwich but instead he got an unexpected summer job. All because the guy who worked there before him walked out, which then led to Gordon picking up the phone that was ringing in the shop, which was where he wrote down a message, then turned around and made this very hot girl a sandwich, only to have the owner walk in shortly afterwards. If only all summer jobs were this easy to get.

Landing this job is just the beginning of Gordon's so-called "sucky summer." From rocking out with one of his weird co-workers to crushing on the other one (even though he says he doesn't like her), to having to spend one day in hell (meaning at his aunt's house for her birthday to make sure that his parents don't know every aspect of his life, even though he knows that they are going to prod at him).

This just may be the best suckiest summer ever for Gordon!

Charming and very humorous, GORDON'S SUCKY SUMMER is a novel that any girl and especially any guy will be able to enjoy. Even though Gordon may think this will be one summer he would want to forget, the readers already know it's one that they will remember forever. Gordon's problems with girls, trying to find something fun to do, and his new job are all things that guys have experienced before, making him a relatable character. A fun and relaxing read, let's hope that Gordon has another sucky summer!… (altro)
